Reliability History Reliability History The reliability charts are based on responses on hundreds of thousands of vehicles from our latest Annual Auto Survey. Consumer Reports subscribers reported on any serious problems they had with their vehicles during the past 12 months that they considered serious because of cost, failure, safety, or downtime, in any of the trouble spots included in the table below. The results are presented relative to the average model that year. Extra weight is given to the more serious areas such as major engine or transmission problems. Based on this data and further analysis, we predict reliability for the latest year. N/A indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.

Climate System

Blower (fan) motor, A/C compressor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate control, refrigerant leakage, electrical failure.

What Owners Say

A/C compressor

"I had purchased a 2010 Enclave and loved it so much that I upgraded to the 2014 Enclave. However, I have had nothing but trouble with anything having to do with cooling the vehicle. I live where it gets 100 degrees and higher by May. No air conditioning is not acceptable. I have to take my vehicle to a town 30 miles away each time. They have been very good on the maintenance and have always given me a loaner. I do not have an issue with the dealer, but I do with the vehicle! Never again."

Nancy A., TX (2014 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)

"This is an issue for many enclaves and it has to do with the manufacture of the air conditioners. Buick knows its a problem and the dealership have gone above and beyond to make sure my was repaired, but it sprang another leak in the evaporator. They so far have managed to repair it. My air conditioner works fine now. The fix was a tough one because they had to take out the entire dash board to get to the evaporator. After realizing that it was a manufacture problem, they were quick to get it re"

In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"GPS doesn't always displays correct info, and it'll take you on a route that is completely backwards or on local roads instead of the fastest way. Even though it is set to take the fastest route possible, it still takes twice as long if you follow how the GPS whats to take you instead of looking at your phone GPS. Usually doing that is much faster."

Anonymous, LA (2014 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)

Most recently, I had it serviced because the air conditioning stopped working and the intermittent navigation issue. The Service Writer said it was a sensor that needed replacing and that would fix both things. The A/C is working, but no voice directions from the GPS"

Paul S., NC (2014 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)
Voice control commands

"Voice commands don't work. If you give it a command to call a specific number in your phone or one you have saved in the system it doesn't recognize it. You can know exactally how its suppose to be given but it will still not work. It will take the numbers and call that way, but that can be more time consuming then picking your phone up and hitting the name you want to call. Its much easier to pick the phone up and less stressful when the voice commands don't work."

"Several electrical problems, airbag light, check engine light (sensor). More problems than should be. Still my my overall satisfaction with the Buick Enclave is good. It rides nice, looks nice and represents a good value. The faults are that it is underpowered, poor gas mileage and although not horrible, still has more problems than imported cars, which is no longer acceptable. Brakes

Antilock system (ABS), parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, rotors, pulsation or vibration, squeaking, brake failure or wear.

What Owners Say

Calipers

"Rear Calipers stick causing excessive heat, warping and destruction of the rotors and premature break pad wear. The excessive heat caused by the constant drag of the stuck calipers probably contributed to the total failure of both rear bearings. At the time of repair, I learned I was 5 days past the 4 year bumper - to - bumper warranty terms. Of course, GM didn't give a damn. $1400 bill for new rear bearings, calipers, rotors, and pads for a car with only 43000 miles (non of which should have failed at this low mileage). Congratulations GM for the very considerate and 'Customer come first' attitude (sarcasm). My personal product experience refers to my 2014 Buick Enclave AWD with every option. Sticker was $54000. The continuing disastrous corporate saga of the once mighty GM is continuing; nor more than 40 years of disdain, disrespect, and disgust for their customers. Obviously, a American tax payer BAILOUT that saved their asses in 2009 -2010 from complete collapse and final end doesn't count for anything. Also, if GM transfers all Buick production to China, I will never ever, ever, ever, purchase another GM product!!! PLEASE CR, send that message to the dumb, fat, uneducated, overpaid, low IQ, GM executives (the sad ironic reality is, these executive are probably not dumb, uneducated, low IQ, idiots, however, they still make these types of moronic short sighted decisions). GM is still doomed. From the CEO down, there is, little passion, leadership, desire, or ultimately, concern to deliver the best products to their dwindling customer base."
