Temperatures and leaves are starting to fall in many parts of the country, and new-car discounts are rising. This can be a great time to get a deal on a new car because dealerships are looking to clear out leftover 2025 vehicles to make room for the 2026s—particularly when the ’26 is redesigned.

To help shoppers, we’ve compiled a list of the best end-of-summer new-car deals, focusing on the models that have incentives and the greatest percentage of potential savings compared with their sticker price. They were selected from vehicles with a strong Overall Score, which factors in road-test performance, owner satisfaction, reliability, and safety. This means each and every one is CR Recommended. (Learn more about CR’s car ratings.)

The current average price for new cars is $48,841, according to Kelley Blue Book. Using that as a guide, we filtered the list to show just those vehicles that have a bottom-line price—factoring in potential negotiation and available incentives—below that figure.

    MORE ON CAR BUYING

The vehicles listed below are priced 8 to 23 percent below the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, with potential savings spanning from $2,351 to $12,712 once nationwide incentives are applied.

These extreme savings come with trade-offs, though. It’s the end of the model year, and any 2025 car purchased now will see accelerated first-year depreciation, especially models being redesigned.

But buying a year-end model can be a smart move if you plan to hold on to the vehicle for several years, especially if you’re a high-mileage driver. If now is the right time for you to buy new, consider the models below, ranked by percentage of potential savings.

Another path to savings is to shop used cars—although those prices are elevated these days. If you’re open to buying a pre-owned model, we have used car top picks to steer you in the right direction.
