Acura and Honda Cars and SUVs Recalled for a Software Issue That Can Cause Vehicles to Stall
The Honda Pilot, Acura MDX, and Acura TLX are included in the recall
Acura and Honda issued a recall for nearly 295,000 vehicles, including the 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type-S SUV, 2021-2025 Acura TLX Type-S sedan, and 2023-2025 Honda Pilot SUV.
Honda and Acura Stall Recall Details
Vehicles Recalled
• Acura MDX Type-S SUVs manufactured between April 23, 2021, and Dec. 11, 2024.
• Acura TLX Type-S sedans manufactured between Dec. 9, 2020, and Nov. 25, 2024.
• Honda Pilot SUVs manufactured between Sept. 13, 2022, and Jan. 9, 2025.
The problem: Faulty software programming of the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU) can cause the engine to lose power or stall while the vehicle is in motion.
The fix: Dealerships will update the FI-ECU software, free of charge. Owners who already paid for a related repair may be eligible for reimbursement from Acura or Honda.
