Cadillac and GMC SUVs Recalled to Fix Backup Cameras
XT5, XT6, and Acadia SUVs equipped with surround view cameras will need a free repair
General Motors is recalling over 95,000 SUVs, including the 2020 and 2021 Cadillac XT5 and XT6 and GMC Acadia, because their surround view cameras might not work.
The problem is caused by a faulty cable that may cause the backup camera’s image to display intermittently or not at all. Dealerships will replace this cable, free of charge. Only vehicles equipped with GM’s optional Surround Vision feature are included in the recall.
In documents provided to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, GM says it is aware of three cases of what it calls “minor property damage” that are due to this recall.

If you plug your car’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into NHTSA’s website and a recall doesn’t appear, it means your vehicle doesn’t currently have any open recalls. Because automakers issue recalls often, and for many older vehicles, we recommend checking back regularly to see whether your vehicle has had a recall issued.
