Honda Ridgeline Pickups Recalled to Fix Faulty Backup Cameras
Dealerships will replace a faulty wire that may keep the backup camera image from displaying
Honda is recalling over 187,000 Ridgeline pickup trucks from the 2020 through 2024 model years because their backup cameras might not display an image.
Honda Ridgeline Recall Details
Vehicles recalled: Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks manufactured between Nov. 8, 2019, and April 24, 2024.
The problem: Water and salt intrusion could damage an improperly insulated wiring harness. Over time, repeated opening and closing of the tailgate could cause the harness to break, and the backup camera image would no longer display.
The fix: Honda dealerships will replace the faulty wiring harness, free of charge.
How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may contact Honda at 888-234-2138.
NHTSA campaign number: 24V321. Honda’s own number for this recall is YI7.
Check to see whether your vehicle has an open recall: NHTSA’s website will tell you whether your vehicle has any open recalls that need to be addressed.
If you plug your car’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into NHTSA’s website and a recall doesn’t appear, it means your vehicle doesn’t currently have any open recalls. Because automakers issue recalls often, and for many older vehicles, we recommend checking back regularly to see whether your vehicle has had a recall issued.
