Hyundai Recalls the Santa Cruz and Tucson Due to Brake Concerns
Camera software can cause brakes to be applied when driving, risking a rear-end collision
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Santa Cruz pickups, and Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) SUVs over braking concerns. Software in the front cameras may cause the forward collision avoidance system to activate prematurely and unexpectedly apply the brakes.
Hyundai Braking Recall Details
Vehicles recalled: 2025-2026 Santa Cruz pickups, and Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) SUVs
The problem: Software in the front cameras may cause the forward collision avoidance system to activate prematurely and unexpectedly apply the brakes.
The fix: Dealerships will update the front camera software, free of charge.
