Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEVs Recalled for Software Error
The problem could make these SUVs suddenly lose power while driving
Jeep is recalling nearly 92,000 Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) from the 2022 through 2026 model years to fix a software error that could cause the SUVs to lose power while driving.
Jeep 4xe Recall Details
Vehicles recalled: Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEV SUVs manufactured between July 23, 2021, and Aug. 29, 2025. Jeep says that the specific vehicles involved in the recall will be searchable on NHTSA’s website on Sept. 11, 2025.
The problem: A software error means the vehicle’s hybrid control processor may misinterpret a signal from the battery pack control module and cause a loss of power.
The fix: There’s no fix yet. Jeep will alert owners by first-class mail as soon as a free repair is available.
