Nissan is recalling over 300,000 Rogue SUVs from the 2023 through 2025 model years to fix potentially serious engine problems. As with all recalls, those repairs will be free of charge.

    MORE ON Car RECALLS

The first recall is an expansion of one that started in July 2025, and addresses the potential for engine failure and fire risk due to bearings that can fail when engine oil temperatures get too high. Before the engine fails, drivers will probably notice abnormal engine noises, rough running, and warning lights. Nissan dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, completely replace the engine free of charge. So far, Nissan says there have been 690 warranty claims but no crashes or injuries related to the defect.

The second recall applies only to 2024-2025 Rogues and also involves engine failure. This problem is due to a software issue that could cause the engine’s electronic throttle body to fail. To fix it, Nissan dealerships will perform a free software update. They will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the throttle body free of charge. If the throttle body fails, the engine may suddenly stall, or owners may not be able to put the car in gear after restarting the engine. The automaker says there have been 3,111 warranty claims but no crashes or injuries related to this problem so far.
