"SUPER acceleration due to instant torque with electric motors, no heat comes off the car in the summer (can't even describe what a difference THAT makes), and the battery under the floor provides a low center of gravity for decent handling. The stock tires are terrible: no traction whatsoever, but they are self-sealing and low rolling resistance, so replacing them with a better tire is a challenge I have not solved yet. Any better handling tire might not be self-sealing or run-flat, and may adversely impact range."

"Drove all winter in Minnesota weather. Traction was excellent though snow drifts, for a small car. Ride is comparable to a larger car. 240 miles per charge range in summer is excellent (winter range drops by about a third. Even sub-zero Fahrenheit still yielded around 165 mile range). The one weakness is that, unlike Tesla’s Supercharger network, the Bolt battery depends on private charging companies while traveling intercity. Because of the battery range, only a “fast charger‿ is practical (unless one wishes to shop at Goodwill for 2 - 3 hours). Fast chargers can be few and far between in the Midwest."

I think this, overall, is good, however, it occurs to me that, knowing one has the ability to move quickly might actually encourage some drivers to be more reckless. I like most the one-pedal driving feature. It links breaking to letting up on the accelerator. Time is not lost moving one's foot to the break pedal and it provides great control over speed and acceleration. For a 5-10 mile trip I only need the brake pedal a couple of times. Also, GM claims, the efficiency is highest when driving under one-pedal control. What I don't like is the dashboard controls that involve pushing a marker on the electronic monitor portion. Because you cannot feel a knob, you have to look to, for example, change the exhaust fan speed. This requires taking your eyes off the road for too long a time. They have done a great job making sure one can control the radio without looking, but I change fan speed and internal temperature much more than I change radio settings."

"NOISE level is very low when I don't have the windows open. However, the CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM requires that you either have the windows open to get an ambient air breeze OR put the fan on 1 (lowest setting) and adjust the temp to the same as the outside temperature to get an ambient air breeze! I want "un-conditioned" (vs. air-conditioned or heated) air to come through the ducts without using the fan and fooling with the degree-based temperature control knob. The climate control system does not have the "traditional" default of allowing outside air to come through the system without the fan driving it and the a/c or the heater controlling its temperature. And yet that default capability would be ideal for an electric car, minimizing the use of the battery to do the simplest climate control function of providing an ambient air breeze through the ducts. Chevy is probably thinking that most people (Americans anyway) want air-conditioned air, but I am not one of those and I don't live where that is a necessity. So I resort to opening the window(s) to get a breeze. SEATS: I like that the Bolt allows adjusting the front seat height fairly high and fairly level, and I adjust it as high as it will go (and even though I am 6 feet tall, there's still plenty of head room) because what I don't like about most recent cars is that they force you to sit with the seat bottom (and corresponding seat back) tipped backwards and your legs stretched out in front of you instead of sitting more chair-like. So the Bolt allows a more upright driving position for the driver's and front passenger's bucket seats. Reviewers have commented about the narrowness and lack of cushioning materials in the front seats, and I agree to some extent -- I often use a wedge cushion to bring the seat even more level and to not feel the edges of the seat confining my derriere. I would really like a lumbar adjuster in the back of the seat to be able to customize the curve in the seat back for my changing needs while on a long drive."

"A full EV with a 238 mile range (though I get up to 295 miles), it replaced a large SUV. No regrets. The cost per mile is less than half what a gas engine car costs to run. This car has a lot of utility with the roof rails and CUV-type styling. The hatch opens wide. Lots of hauling space with seats down. We can drive it in and extended metro are with no fear of running the battery low. We can travel multi-state using increasingly numerous charge stations. We'll never go back to a gas engine."

"Massive fuel saving costs in the long run. I hardly ever use the hydraulic brakes so my guess is they will last over 100K. Range has always been better than 235 miles. We currently have a 600V DC fast charger close by which is free for first 45 min. I charge there a couple of times a week. Roomy back seat with flat floor and good amount of luggage room, becoming cavernous when you take out all the compartiments and liners. Brakes will last over 100K miles with the strong regeneration, even better than the Volt. I always drive in L which gives you one pedal driving unless you need a sudden stop. A lot of service and oil change work is avoided with EV drivetrain. There is not even an automatic transmission to worry about. Substantial feeling doors, like a BMW, unlike our Prius. Our Volt and our Bolt have been completely trouble free, with one over the air software update I performed on the Bolt, in our own driveway."

"The Bolt's range is far more in either urban or suburban driving than rated, and ok on the highway unless you are traveling over 65 MPH. Range drops at higher speeds. A/C and heater use also can severely impact mileage. I estimate that even at NJ's exorbitant electricity prices, my cost is about half that of gas, or maybe even less. Add the $7,500 tax credit, and the car is a bargain. Oh, and there is no real maintenance beyond cabin air filters and tire rotations for the first 150,000 miles! It is easy to change the cabin air filter yourself, and brake life should be forever due to regenerative braking in electric vehicles. If you drive a lot, but under 200 miles a day, this car is PERFECT."

"The driving experience in the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt is very different from driving a non-electric car.
