What Owners Say
"Caused by water pump"
Anonymous, MB (2013 Chevrolet Cruze ECO 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"The water pump distribution manifold that connects the overflow tank to the water pump, the plastic cracked and would leak under pressure and was getting ready for a major failure that could have resulted in major engine damage or getting stuck on the side of the road"
Steven F., CA (2013 Chevrolet Cruze ECO 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Many auto manufactures have started using plastic components in high heat applications. I know of BMW, VW, and CHEVROLET to name a few. Manufactures should get dinged for this. Recently I have to replace the Engine Coolant Water Outlet, Thermostat and water pump because of a crack developed in the coolant water outlet pipe."
Ricardo R., TX (2013 Chevrolet Cruze ECO 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"This car has had several antifreeze leaks due to failed water pump, broken lines, and leaking coolant line going to the turbo charger."
Anonymous, PA (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"The car overheated while driving in the dead of winter because of a coolant leak. There was no low coolant indicator. How is possible that there is no indicator?"
Colleen K., MI (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"It was the same issue as previously discussed."
Anonymous, NY (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Most times when using defrost the system would shut down and give error message 'A/C off due to high engine temp' and the temperature gage would stop working. Several trips to dealer to did not resolve it. After GM advisory, seems to finally be resol"
Anonymous, MO (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Car simply started to overheat for no apparent reason. Could not find any leaks, whatever"
David G., PA (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LS 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Car quit registering temp, dealer reset module and has been fine sense"
Anonymous, OH (2013 Chevrolet Cruze ECO)"Pretty simple, noticed it was leaking"
Anonymous, IA (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Leak in water pump caused overheating. New water pump was covered by warranty, but I was very disappointed in service at dealership insisting they needed to also supply a new thermostat which was not covered, and misleading us on the cost for that."
Anonymous, NY (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Water pump was replaced twice so far in life of care. Second time after being stranded by overheated car. Also seems to be resolved after GM advisory letter"
Anonymous, MO (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"I smelled engine coolant from the heater vents; it was discovered that the water pump was leaking. the dealership replaced it under warranty"
Lori K., NJ (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LS 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"as result of factory error all the coolant leaked out and caused the engine to overheat and water pump to fail"
Anonymous, VA (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Just a recall. No repair"
Anonymous, CA (2013 Chevrolet Cruze LTZ 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)"New water pump under warranty"

"We've had a persistent coolant leak that started while the car was still within its 2 yr/24K CPO warranty. The car was at the dealership 3 times while in warranty and twice, parts got replaced and once we were turned away because a leak couldn't be found. We had to bring the car in an additional 2 times to (knock on wood) fix the problem. I think we ended up spending close to $2500 to fix this issue and that was after the dealership gave us some small discounts. We hope the issue is finally resolved because we're really fed up with the car, the dealership, and with GM. We're disgusted that we had to pay for a problem that started while the car still in warranty."
