Welcome to Consumer Reports.

We’re so glad to have you as a member. You now have access to benefits that can help you choose right, be safe and stay informed.
You'll appreciate the redesigned Malibu if you prize a plush, comfortable ride and a very quiet cabin. That's where this solid, easygoing sedan excels. It also has simple controls, decent fuel economy and sound handling (although the Malibu is clearly no sports sedan). You'll probably come away disappointed, however, if you need a roomy rear seat.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

What Owners Say

“good accerlation and nice ride”

SCOTT M., MO (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

WAYNE T., OR (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“The turbo is awesome! The acceleration is tremendous and still the mileage is good.”

C B., CO (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“the malibu accelerates at a decent rate”

PATRICK C., NJ (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“Driving my 2014 Malibu is a pleasure. I travel the NJ Turnpike 5 days a week and could not ask for a better car.”

DOROTHY O., NJ (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“this car has a 3-5 second hesitation when the gas pedal is pressed somewhat hard to pass or when you have to speed up to blend into traffic.”

Anonymous, PA (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“4-cyl. give excellent mileage and the turbo charger gets me off of the on ramp and allows me to merge with traffic with no problems.”

Anonymous, TN (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“Acceleration is great, greater than I expected from a 4 cylinder engine. Takes corners very well with no under steer or over steer.”

DOUGLAS L., MN (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

“With a sun roof, the seat sits too low and does not allow your feet to sit flat on the floor. Causes too much pressure on the lower back during long commutes.”

ROBERT A., NJ (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“I like this car.”

Anonymous, MI (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“Haveing a bad back,I had to trade in a 2014 Mazda with 600 miles on it,to get comfort in driving.Loosing about 5000 dollars”

RICK N., CA (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“My husband and I have back issues when driving. We both chose this car for the support and comfort on our backs while driving. The seats are easily adjustable.”

JOAN S., IN (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“The interior is made of a lot of cheap plastic and makes a lot of noise as it apparently rubs together. Very distracting and disappointing.”

JERE S., PA (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“I'm 6'2". If the seat is up and forward its hard to get in.”

Anonymous, MI (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

“Good value.”

Anonymous, MI (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“So far my Chevy Malibu LZT has been an excellent vehicle for the purchase price of $16,000 used with 36k in January of 2016. I shopped around for over a month and a half. I decided on this vehicle because it was the most quite, best interior and handling for the money.”

PETER M., AZ (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“Good”

JERRY D., KS (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“My only complaint is the lack of standard backup cameras for the price we paid.”

Anonymous, ON (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“Price for the size and solid feel is great for this vehicle.”

R P., KS (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

“It is styled well for the current trends. I do not like the European styling as it relates to narrow side windows and long sloping rear windows in all of the new sedans.”

LOREN B., MO (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“looks sharp”

SCOTT M., MO (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“Quiet ride, great acceleration, love the indoor comfort control function, being able to set a specific temperature and not having to adjust it after that, a thermostat controls it. Great trunk space, and even better with rear seats folded down. Have put a 10 foot long strip of lumber inside with trunk closed.”

DOUGLAS L., MN (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“The front end is so low it is hard to judge where the curb is when making a right turn. The steel frame between the windshield and the side windows causes a fairly large blind spot”

Anonymous, IL (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“Even after 2 years it still looks stylish”

RICK N., CA (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“My wife picked it out and it is not what I would have chosen. It is silver gray, very similar to many other cars so it does not stand out.”

JOHN R., IL (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)

“The only reason we would not buy this car again is that it is so low to the ground, it scrapes every time we pull in a driveway and the bumper has gotten caught on parking dividers”

CATHY S., OH (2014 Chevrolet Malibu)
