Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

What Owners Say

"Feels heavy and drives like it too"

Anonymous, TX (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"It has been in the shop 3 times for the front camera. It will stop working. In several hours it will start working. All they will tell me is that the front camera may not work when it is raining."

Roy B., AR (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Quick acceleration and handling."

Anonymous, IA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"STORAGE CAPACITY IS GREAT BLUE TOOTH WILL NOT STORE ALL MY CONTACTS PAINT CHIPPING AROUND DOORS"

Ed D., MN (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"The handling of the Traverse is good. My only complaint about the Traverse is when you have to accelerate quickly, it kind of seems "over dramatic" and waits to shift a little longer than I think it should so it sounds like I am trying to floor it."

Anonymous, CO (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Very easy to park this SUV, even though it is so large. Handling is very secure and solid. It is a very heavy vehicle, so you can't expect quick acceleration from a stop, but the engine does a very good job. Good gas mileage for such a large SUV. Handles extremely well."

Anonymous, GA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"handles very nice for a large vehicle and acceleration is very good"

David E., WI (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"The all-wheel drive is amazing, never a skid in rain or icy weather. It turns very well and has amazig safety features like blind spot alerts, rear view camera and others."

Anonymous, CA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"The Traverse’s 288 hp makes for confident acceleration, while the handling is sharp and crisp."

Bret T., OH (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Good value compared to other SUV purchased a lease return. Seats very comfortable. accessing the 3 row of seats difficult. I have a 30 mile commute difficult Montana winters. Car handles great on winter roads still have factory tires on. Will upgrade tires for Winter 2019 Antilock system works great. Corners nicely on dry roads. Feel so much safer that my previous car on the winter roads. would prefer to have a more economical car for summer and fall . Would buy this car again."

GERALD T., TX (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"This vehicle is our road trip car and it is very comfortable to travel with. In fact we traveled with another couple for a month this winter and they own an Audi. The comment I couldn't believe was how impressed they were with the comfort and quiet of the Traversa."

LEONARD G., IA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"very GOOD"

SCOTT W., NJ (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Transmission behaves quite differently than my former 2012 GMC Acadia did. At times theTraverse transmission seems to slip and grab."

MICHAEL T., PA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Rides smooth and little highway noise."

Anonymous, IA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Not as comfortable (short depth in seats) compared to Ford Flex. Also very noisy (lots of raod noise). Overall a nice car, just not as quiet and comfortable as our Ford Flex road car."

Gabe D., TX (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"The car is very comfortable and quite for long rides. It is very comfortable for four adults and to small children"

Michael K., DE (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"The seats are too stiff for my taste. The noise level is very good at highway speeds."

Anonymous, CA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

Anonymous, PA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Seating very comfortable"

Anonymous, WI (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Drivers seat position has a large block under the left foot which is supposed to give you a comfortable place to put it, but it does just the opposite. It causes my left leg and foot to bend at an uncomfortable angle which makes it impossible for me to be comfortable driving for more than short periods of time (less than an hour)."

Anonymous, NC (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"These seats are very comfortable and the heating/cooling feature is a MUST HAVE feature for me. I use them every day."

Anonymous, CA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"rides very nice and is quiet, seats are comfortable"

David E., WI (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Very comfortable seats with a solid, secure feel to the ride. Very spacious 2nd row floor space, best in class."

Anonymous, GA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"I am disappointed with the lack of cargo space relative to the Dodge minivan I had before. Cannot carry my wife's electric scooter and any reasonable amount of luggage when going on a short trip."

Robert G., IL (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"I found the seats to be very comfortable...surprisingly, even the headrests were comfortable (they were adjustable forward and backward as well as up and down). I’ve noticed many new vehicles have headrests that are pitched to far forward (I feel like I’m being forced to look at my feet) to the point that I get neck strain. The adjustable headrests on the Traverse are wonderful!"

Bret T., OH (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Bigger toys have the sunroof option. Road noise is significant ."

Anonymous, MT (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"All good."

GERALD T., TX (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Seats are very comfortable. More noise comes & cold (in winter) comes through the doors than should, more than on the Silverado pickup I used to have."

RONALD N., MN (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"For being a brand new vehicle, we are very displeased with how uncomfortable the seats are. Of course you cannot tell how comfortable a vehicle is when the dealerships give you a 4 mile test drive. The first week we owned the car we took a took a trip and about 60 miles in to the trip, we were miserably uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we now only use the car for short trips around town and that's it!"

Anonymous, MI (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"I have never been able to get comfortable in any chevrolet vehicle because of the seats. The head rest in this Traverse pushes my head too much forward."

JAMES M., TX (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"We are currently on a long road trip from Alberta to southern Ontario, up to northern Ontario and then back to Alberta. The vehicle is very comfortable to travel in. Smooth ride. Tri-zone air temp allows everyone to be comfortable. A great vehicle for travelling."

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"I bought the cheapest one"

Anonymous, MT (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"We have the LTZ model and love the accident avoidance/safety features on the vehicle. Very nice and quiet ride. Styling, size are all perfect. Purchased in 2016 when Chevy had the 20% off sticker promotion. In addition received supplier pricing discount from dealer, an added $1000 on our $800 trade-in (2000 model year) and free weather Tech mats front and rear for the vehicle. Great price for a new vehicle of that size."

Anonymous, NY (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Overall value was pretty good since I got a low end model. Getting to the third seat is difficult for most adults"

Robert G., IL (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"I feel that it is a good value for the money spent. It has been dependable to this point."

Anonymous, TX (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"We love our Traverse! A great value! Thanks Chevrolet!"

Anonymous, MI (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"This is a very large vehicle for the price. After shopping around, this vehicle had the most interior volume per dollar than any of the other vehicles we looked at (4Runner, Highlander, Pilot, Outback, Forester)"

Anonymous, NJ (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"GM put a 20% off sale on just as we were thinking about buying the Travese and it saved us a ton of money."

RONALD K., TX (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Dealership would not follow the advertised guidelines from Chevrolet without a constant argument as far as trade in value. A major turn off as to wanting to deal with not only that dealership but also Chevrolet."

POLLY R., MO (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"The interior plastics are very poorly made. Trim covers on drivers side seat and door pop open all the time. Extremely poor design and manufacturing for a new car"

GARY P., GA (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Wish that the dashboard had a digital speedometer. It only had analog."

BENJAMIN P., FL (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)

"Nothing particular"

CHARLES F., FL (2016 Chevrolet Traverse)
