General Motors might not build minivans anymore but that doesn't mean they're out of the big family-vehicle market, as three-row SUVs such as the Chevrolet Traverse, and Buick Enclave corporate siblings demonstrates. The GMC Acadia, formerly one of the three-row SUV siblings, has been redesigned for 2017 and is now on a different platform.

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2021 vehicles are holding up in 17 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical system. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.

Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling), loose interior and exterior trim or moldings, rust.

What Owners Say

Loose exterior trim or moldings

"on the driver side passenger door the chrome pinstriping began to peel up, it appears that when the passenger door was opened it was rubbing against the driver door and peeling the chrome. The car only had 4,000 miles on this when it happened and we had to pay for the repair out of pocket for the repair, the dealership and we contacted GM were no help. The chrome pinstriping on the passenger side of the car is loose also(we checked there is no evidence of vandalism). We glued the passenger side ourselves. I feel there is a defect on the chrome trim and am very displeased GM has done nothing to help us."
