This version of the Chrysler Town & Country is far better than the model it replaced. Still, despite some notable features, they didn’t rise to the level needed to compete against better models from Japan and South Korea. We tested the high-end Town & Country Limited. Safety features added with this model include standard stability control and curtain airbags. The ride has also been improved.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

JOSEPH Z., OH (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

WILBUR L., MN (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"The van has a 3.8 l 6-cylinder engine. But, the acceleration is fair. The ride is very comfortable and firm with little side sway. The ride is what I would expect from a touring vehicle."

GREGORY K., WI (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"My 2008 Town & Country has the 3.8 litre V6. I live near an entrance to an expressway. The first time I was driving this vehicle to get on the expressway, was not looking at the speedometer, just wanting to get up to speed to blend in with traffic on the highway. As I merged into traffic, looked down at the speedometer and was doing 82 mph. Did not realize I was traveling that fast, not did the vehicle give any indication that it was being forced to push itself that hard. Surprised and Ple"

MICHAEL B., OH (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"very comfortable ride on a long road trip. We have made several cross country road trips and we get decent mileage and travel very comfortably"

Anonymous, MO (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"At age 85, I think this vehicle is too much to handle"

Anonymous, OH (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Even when it had less than 30,000 miles on it, the transmission had a strange dead spot and then a bang as it went into gear taking off from a stop sign or accelerating just after turning. No one could ever fix it. Two different dealerships told us these vans "just do that." This van is a wonderful as a kid-hauler, but it is not fun to drive."

DEEANNA S., IL (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Been a great car. Comfort is outstanding. Noise level is not so good. Hard to carry on a conversation without raising our voice. Style is great and has been very useful and enjoyable. I am sorry they will no longer be making the T & C."

Anonymous, TX (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Acceleration is excellent. Steering is very responsive. Our only complaint is the turning radius is very wide."

SHIRLEY D., CA (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

S P., NY (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"My wife has a lot of back pain when bumps are encountered while driving. This was one of very few vehicles she is comfortable in. The rear suspension has shocks that are mounted at an angle rather than up and down. It seems to make a much smoother ride for all occupants."

"The seats are comfortable as is the ride. However, the interior does tend to be noisy."

John K., PA (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

WILLIAM F., MI (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

Value

What Owners Say

"it is a very adaptable vehcle for carrying 7 people or items as large as 4 feet by 8 feet - it has been very reliable and usable."

Anonymous, WV (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

Anonymous, NY (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"The flexibility of the "fold and stow" seating for 2nd and 3rd row seating provides exceptional value through the expanded utility of a single vehicle."

Anonymous, MN (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"I bought it new with the "lifetime" Chrysler warranty that they have honored by replacing the 'Compander" in the transaxle once, and replaced recently intake manifold, valve cover, oil pan, oil filter mount, gaskets and the crank shaft seal under warranty !!! It runs like a top and our wear expense has been reasonable for tires, battery and oil changes, etc. I do most maintenance myself, and generally easier to work on than our previous 2001 Van."

Anonymous, TX (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"This was the last year that Chrysler offered a limited life-time power train warranty. It was a great value that has saved me money when my transmission needed to be repaired."

John K., PA (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Sound and video are great. Top of the line with all bells and whistles. Now is a little road noise. Systems are starting to wear out. Had to replace brakes 3 times. The muffler is starting to go bad. Still was a good buy."

"I bought it in Norfolk Virginia when the auto industry was having problems. I bought it in 2009. It was a leftover. the sticker price was $42,500 I paid $30,000. I though it was a great deal even traveling to get it."

S P., NY (2008 Chrysler Town & Country)
