2011 Chrysler Town & Country Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
Chrysler might have invented the modern minivan, but time marched on, leaving this version of the Town & Country feeling dated and past its prime. It’s not that the Town & Country totally lacks good points. Ride is very comfortable and settled. Passengers will also find a quiet, well-equipped cabin that offers considerable versatility.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Transmission shifts roughly. Acceleration is fair. I would not want to have a front end collision. The panels will give inward if one leans against it. It does not dent but gives inward."

Anonymous, TX (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"transmission and acceleration are poor, shifts very poorly"

HENRY H., NY (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Could use a little more power or gear adjustment to accelerate back onto a 70 MPH interstate. It gets the job done but really roars to do it."

Anonymous, NJ (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"It's a mini-van. Good cruiser that hauls a lot; handles better than my Buick Lucerne did, but, it's a minivan. It accelerates well at speed, but is somewhat slow to shift; can't cure that. My wife's Fusion is dramatically better at shifting. The Chrysler is a mini-van, not a nice driving car, and excels at being a mini-van."

RICHARD Z., OH (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Very good acceleration and handling for a van."

Stephen N., MN (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"The brakes need mechanical attention every year. The wear and rotors are substantially substandard."

Anonymous, IL (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Acceleration is amazing, never expected it would be, but It is, It handles great, an is strong off the line at the lights"

Anonymous, NH (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Acceleration is very good and on cruise it maintains speed on hills very well by down shifting fairly smoothly. Handling is responsive and solid."

Anthony W., IA (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Responsive and great cruiser on the highway.Quiet on the turnpike and good looking. Handling keeps it in it’s name when you have to stand on the brakes."

Anonymous, VA (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Good gas mileage -- 27 mpg at times, quite ride in comfortable seats."

John L., FL (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"We took a trip recently through the mountains in the Virginia and were very please with the vans overall performance. We averaged about 23 MPG for DC and other cities and the mountains from IA to VA and back."

Anthony W., IA (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"The only minivan (other than Dodge) with stow and go seats - it's perfect for my lifestyle and activities, cannot get it in any other vehicle so I will stick with it (if Chrysler stops making T&C's I will go to Dodge)"

LORI E., CT (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"very comfortable seats. i can position them as i like by reclining etc."

Anonymous, NC (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Most comfortable seating position & seat design of any vehicle I've owned, with the possible exception of my BMW. Excellent driving position; 400 mile + cruises are not tiring. Best cruiser we've ever had, including Cadillac, Olds, Buick, and Pontiac (all of these were full size cars). Climate control has been flawless"

RICHARD Z., OH (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"I love the automatic doors, the heated leather seats and steering wheel. The stow & go seats are very convenient and very versatile. This is the most comfortable car we've owned in 45 years."

Anonymous, WA (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"The seats are narrow. Road noise is loud. The air condition control for the back can not be control in the front. What I like is the heated seats and steering wheel."

Anonymous, TX (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Wife finds seat uncomfortable. Touring model seats are too hard and hurt her hips"

CHESTER A., FL (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Our older 98 Town and Country provided a smoother ride and was more comfortable as far as the seats. We still own that vehicle too."

Anonymous, KS (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"I rides and drives great, it is made for comfort on long trips. I only fault I have with this vehicle at all is road noise is a little load."

Gary C., FL (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"By far this has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is not the fastest, it is not sporty, but at the time I needed a family vehicle that could seat 7 or more people. I looked at a lot and the Town and country offered the seating. So I purchased it thinking as soon as my children move go off to college, get married or whatever I wild trade it in. is now 7 years old, with 145,000 miles on it. The only this I have ever replaced or repaired or the brakes and rotors. My very aggressive driving eat brakes and rotors up about every 10,000 to 12,000 miles. I have only had one minor issue with my exhaust, and had to replace the muffler and tail pipe. Never though I would say a mini van would be my most used, longest owned vehicle, . But it is. A bonus, that Chrysler still offers is a lifetime unlimited bumper to bumper factory warranty. Not that I have had to use it much, but it has paid for itself using it for minor things like my exhaust pipe rotted out, they replaced it, a few other minor repairs over the years all covered. And when I have to leave it over night, I get a free rental. Could go on and on, but you get my point. I would do it again if I had to, but at near 8 years old and 144,000 miles on her, she still looks and runs like new. Interior and exterior."

Anonymous, NH (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"This is such a versatile vehicle with the Sto-N-Go seats. I don't know another vehicle to fit our needs."

John L., FL (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"You setup like any van for a good view. Road noise really depends on the driving surface and the tires, but is not overly loud. Ride and handling are solid but more pickup like rather than car like."

Anthony W., IA (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Ride is comfortable . The thing I dislike the most is the interior nose from the ;poor fit and finish. The over head light panel has to be shimmed to stop the noise ."

Anonymous, WI (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Seats are OK but not as comfortable as other vehicles I have ridden in. Ride is good. Noise is a little higher on freeways than average."

Stephen N., MN (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Seats are beige leather. They do not get hot in the summer heat of Texas. In the winter, I can heat them up. My husband and I can adjust the seats perfectly for our heights and leg length."

Anonymous, TX (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"very decent comfort in all areas for a minivan."

Howard M., DE (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Easily adjusted seats, Very comfortable on long drives"

Anonymous, CA (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"It's a noisy ride, lots of air noise when driving."

James P., CT (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"They changed the chassis on the 2011 so the ride is not as smooth as the previous years. The seats and doors rattle a little too."

Anonymous, OH (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"high seating a plus. not a noisy vehicle."

Anonymous, FL (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"The front seats are very comfortable. The utility of the T&C is outstanding -- you can reconfigure to do some many things with the sto&go seats"

John L., FL (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Very comfortable seating on long distances."

Leroy C., IL (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

Anonymous, NY (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"I feel like my vision is higher up and can see better. The seats are much more comfortable than a car. Their more like my comfortable chair at home. There is very comfort seating for 6 or 7 if you have 3 kids in the rear."

Anthony W., IA (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"I call it my carpeted pickup. One just cannot fill it up. In spite of that, it rides, accelerates and handles well. I would not buy a minivan that did not have Stow-n-Go seats."

Anonymous, NC (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"About $400.00 to replace a thermostat was excessive"

"I've owned this van for 5 years and have never had a problem with it-not one problem. Love this van!"

Anonymous, WI (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

"Bought used. No problems. Would have liked self dimming headlights.I am a little older and I miss the dimmer switch on the floor."

PETER C., WI (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)

Arthur V., NJ (2011 Chrysler Town & Country)
