What Owners Say
"In the start of hotter weather, the Air Conditioning unit was only blowing our air. It did not get cold."
Anonymous, MD (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew 3.6-L V6)"The rear compressor was leaking Freon. When they tried to replace it they could not get the line from the front of the engine off so they had to replace Thrace line also. It wound up being a $2600 Repair bill."
Anonymous, WA (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"This has happened at least twice with this car. The temperature control does not go to cool on the passenger side. In the middle of summer, the drivers side has regular a/c and the passenger side has high heat."
Anonymous, NY (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"The rear compressor started leaking, so the A/C didn't work. It's located near the rear wheel, so it rusted. The solution was to remove it so there's no A/C in the back, which we rarely use."
Anonymous, ME (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan Unsure 3.6-L V6)"Passenger and rear temp was only hot no matter where you set the dial"
Anonymous, ON (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6-L V6)"Fan stopped working altogether after a short period of giving signs it was going to give out."
Paul M., CA (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan American Value 3.6-L V6)"rear ac motor is making rattling noises. must be replaced, but I haven't done so yet"
Paul K., FL (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6-L V6)"The fan didn't work unless you turned the control far to the right and back to the left"
Anonymous, MN (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6-L V6)"Down to one speed - medium"
Anonymous, WI (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)"The condenser for the rear A/C is located behind one of the rear wheels and gets sprayed by road salt and other debris, causing premature failure."
R D., ON (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)"Had to go to 2 dealers to determine that the conderser had a leak. The vehicle had only 20000 km on it but the warranty had run out so of course the dealer would not fix it without charging me the full $900 to repair it Fortunately I am an aggressive person and contacted Chrysler Canada and managed to get them to pay for the work in a contrived manner. They contacted the dealer and got a lower rate which I then had to pay the dealer and sent them the receipt which was reimbursed to me a couple o"
Mary J., ON (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"First the rear evaporator was replaced, then had to take car in again because the A/C expansion valve on the evaporator failed"
Anonymous, IN (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew 3.6-L V6)"system just blew hot air all the time on passenger side."
William L., AB (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)"The passenger side climate would only blow hot air. The actuated door that controls heat seized."
W L., TX (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)"Every year I have to take the van in to fix the rear heating fix as it gets stuck on heat when I first start up the ac takes long time to get cold air in the back vents"
Anonymous, ON (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"AC lines to rear evaporator leaking ;"
John A., RI (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)"I had to have Freon added because the van was not cooling."
Anonymous, WA (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"The vehicle I purchased came with the front passenger & rear passenger climate controls (heat/air) After one year (give or take) the front/rear air conditioning malfunctioned. I took it to an heat/air conditioner mechanic & it was found that the pipes providing the air conditioning to the rear compartment had rotted out thus releasing all the refrigerant. Rather than replace the pipes (very expensive) I opted (upon suggestion by the mechanic) to have the a/c pipes leading to the rear - sealed - thus leaving the heat pipes activated in the rear section. This has worked out well but cost me around $500.00 to do this, The Dealer said there was no recall but almost all owners of similar products, had the same failures."
Gordon J., ON (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"had the system charged twice already? new van low mileage? I was informed I may have a expensive repair coming."
Anonymous, MI (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)"Leak was in the rear, took several days in the shop because they didn't have the parts in stock. Entire from and side of the van had to be removed to find the leak. Took two trys in the shop to fix the problem"
Christine B., NJ (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"After replacing the evaporator twice and still finding a leak the dealer finally found a leak in the line from the front to back A/C. Only had about 25K km on car but warranty expired and I had to pay hundreds of dollars to tix it."
Mary J., ON (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"I had an antifreeze leak diagnosed by an incompetent dealer who replaced two hoses that were supposedly leaking on a vehicle with 20K km on it which I had to pay for because my warranty had expired. This dealer replaced the system with incorrect antifreeze because they just replaced what was already in there from the manufacturer. I figured out from the manual that they had put the wrong stuff in there because I had priced the cost of the correct antifreeze as $75 and they charged me much less"
Mary J., ON (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)"The AC seemed to blow less-than-cool air all of a sudden. I took the car to the service and they discovered a leak. Although summer is approaching, I haven't fixed, because the cost is high and this happened just after the warranty expired"
Anonymous, ON (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6-L V6)"leaked out over winter"
C W., TX (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)"leaks in rear ac evaporator lines"
Anonymous, RI (2013 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)"On a hot day AC was not putting out "cold" air. Took it in and they recharged the system with dye to see it a leak could be detected. I was supposed to bring it back again when it isn't working again. To date it is working fine (more than 2 months since I took it in)."

"It did not keep the temperature a constant level. It would be sharply cold for a bit, then get warm, then to cool. It was very unreliable"
