2020 Ford Escape
Ratings & Reliability
The compact Escape is fully redesigned for the 2020 model year, with curvier styling, updated drivetrains, two hybrid models, and more standard advanced safety features. The new Escape is slightly longer, lower, wider and has more interior space than the outgoing model, yet it’s about 200 lb. lighter. Both the all-new 1.5-liter turbo 3-cylinder and 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder come mated to an 8-speed automatic that replaces the previous 6-speed unit. Both the regular and plug-in hybrid models will be mated with a CVT, and front- and all-wheel drive will be available. All Escapes will come standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, and lane keeping assist. The 2020 Escape goes on sale in Fall, 2019.
