This version of the F-250 Super Duty has many strong points. The Ford-built Powerstroke 6.4-liter turbodiesel V8 got the best fuel economy among the heavy-duty diesel trucks of its day, while providing plenty of towing and payload-hauling capability.
Cabin space is generous, with a large backseat and abundant storage. Nice features abound, including an optional tailgate step and built-in switches for accessories. But the truck also has several dynamic shortcomings. A stiff ride and a lack of agility are typical for the class. Stopping distances are long and the F-250's emergency handling has very low limits, even compared to other heavy-duty trucks. In fact, we do not recommended the F-250 because of its poor emergency handling capabilities.
