Genesis, Hyundai Motor Group’s upscale brand, competes with well-established luxury automakers, but its vehicles often cost less than European equivalents. The brand sells a variety of sedans and SUVs, including several EVs. In Consumer Reports’ tests, Genesis models have impressed. Their ride and handling are balanced, fit and finish is excellent, and meaningful driver assistance systems are usually standard. Unfortunately, the once easy-to-use controls in earlier models have become more complicated. Reliability is an ongoing concern, putting the brand low in our rankings, and currently preventing us from recommending any current models.
