The Honda Civic is refined and economical, with fairly nimble handling and a relatively comfortable ride. The aerodynamic styling of the Civic looks futuristic, but sacrifices ease of access. Pronounced road noise remains a complaint. Stability control is standard only on the EX-L, Hybrid, and Si models.

"The bottom plastic liner fell off. Also, at one point I hit a cement parking block and the front fell off. This is why I will buy a car that is higher off the ground the next time around"

Barbara H., CA (2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 1.3-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"My car is now 8 years old, so I should expect to have problems now and then. The front left bumper, different material than the rest of the car, has broken it's clips and it hanging down about 3/4ths of an inch"

Anonymous, CA (2007 Honda Civic Si)

"Rubber molding is coming off front window"

Rafiq R., ON (2007 Honda Civic DX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"The sun visors for this model are defective and wear out in about 2 years of light use. Then they simply cannot be folded up completely and hang down partially sometimes obstructing your view or drop down suddenly. Honda has known about the problem for years but has never fixed the problem. The cost to replace one (1) is around $150 including parts and labor"

Keith W., CA (2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"The sun visors in this car have broken repeatedly. They actually "tear" in the heat. The plastic becomes soft and when you move them into place, the pressure from the spring in the visor, causes the visor to tear and no longer stay in place. The visor can drop in front of your vision without notice, This item is a safety issue that should have led to a recall not an extension of the warranty"

Dan T., CA (2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling)

"This is a common problem with Hondas that you can see on just about any drive around town. I believe that the manufacturer attributes it to non-Honda window cleaner in the window washer and the pattern of damage/decay would point to that. However, I did not put anything in the window washer (but bought it used five years ago; problem started last year) and Honda has had literally decades to remedy the problem (it is common on Hondas and I do not notice it on so much on any other makes). I have owned four other Hondas and this is the first one I have had to experience the problem."

Anonymous, AL (2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"The entire roof where the sunroof is located it peeling. It looks awful. We will not buy another Honda. Honda would not take responsibility!"

Anonymous, WA (2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"Honda extended warranty an extra 24 months. Paint on roof and trunk started to fade a few months after that expired."

Robt F., CA (2007 Honda Civic LX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"Peeling clear coat off body panels."

Rafiq R., ON (2007 Honda Civic DX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"Because I missed the recall deadline for this issue a couple of years ago, the clear coat has peeled off, leaving the car's roof looking like it has male-pattern baldness (specifically, receding from the front on the sides)"

Anonymous, ON (2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"Fading, chipping paint on trunk and top of car"

Anonymous, CA (2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
