What Owners Say
"As a 7 year old car with close to 100k miles on it, the car has decidedly less pickup than it had when it was newer."
Anonymous, FL (2009 Honda CR-V)"Does not have enough acceleration"
Anonymous, NC (2009 Honda CR-V)"mileage is my only complaint"
ISABEL C., RI (2009 Honda CR-V)"do not get tired"
ARTHUR L., SC (2009 Honda CR-V)"Handles well, reliable, flexible interior configuration for hauling large items"
MELISSA A., WA (2009 Honda CR-V)"The truck has a very nice, smooth, quiet ride with good steering responsiveness. My only knock is the lack of a 6 cylinder option and the 16 mpg fuel economy. Also, the lower body parts art\e a bit cheap looking and awkward."
Anonymous, NY (2009 Honda CR-V)"Bumpy ride-not smooth. Would like a longer wheel axle or better shocks"
KIMBERLY O., WI (2009 Honda CR-V)"Vehicle is somewhat underpowered. This shows up especially on hills."
BRYAN D., NS (2009 Honda CR-V)"Handling is a little sluggish -- consistent with any SUV. Acceleration is good."
Anonymous, VA (2009 Honda CR-V)"It lacks power and has to much road noise."
KEITH S., LA (2009 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is a bit lacking."
Anonymous, CO (2009 Honda CR-V)"May be unfair to compare an SUV with a sedan for acceleration and handling. Also, I may have been more satisfied with a V6 engine, as in an Acura SUV. I really put the CR-V to the test driving it over mountains out west in Colorado and New Mexico. It just couldn't manage the steep grades. Torque wasn't there. Trade off was good handling in snow. Also, I wanted more agility, responded too sluggishly for me."
Anonymous, OH (2009 Honda CR-V)"It handles very well in rainy weather, and braking system is excellent- most people who drive this vehicle tell me the brakes are "touchy", I say their brakes are too soft. Steering is excellent and handles well in bad weather- I have not driven this vehicle in the snow/ice."
Anonymous, FL (2009 Honda CR-V)"Very satisfied"
Anonymous, IL (2009 Honda CR-V)"Our CR-V has provided me the most fun I've had with a car. It is so responsive and the breaks are so smooth. Amazing SUV - feels and handles like a Honda car!"
Anonymous, MN (2009 Honda CR-V)"Not good acceleration when trying to merge"
Anonymous, CO (2009 Honda CR-V)"Accelerates too slowly."
Anonymous, TX (2009 Honda CR-V)"Small engine certainly adequate for city driving but freeway ramps are a challenge. Steering and braking are super sensitive."
Anonymous, IL (2009 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is poor."
Anonymous, CA (2009 Honda CR-V)"Good handling, reliable and dependable"
Anonymous, NJ (2009 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration from start is adequate, could be better at passing speed but the car is very solid and maneuverable on the road."
Anonymous, CA (2009 Honda CR-V)"Another great quality Honda product but you don't buy the car for the excitement. It's very practical and gets you from point A to point B."
Anonymous, CA (2009 Honda CR-V)"Handling is great; sometimes acceleration is slow"
Anonymous, AL (2009 Honda CR-V)"Drives great but could have more acceleration."
Tim L., TX (2009 Honda CR-V)"ROad noise"
Anonymous, IN (2009 Honda CR-V)"All wheel drive is a great feature in the rain and snow. Acceleration is good. Mileage improves dramatically during freeway driving to almost 20 mpg."
Anonymous, CA (2009 Honda CR-V)"It has great pickup on the freeway but I feel the handling is lose, even after the alignment has been adjusted."
James E., VA (2009 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is adequate, although the engine is noisy when urged to go. The transmission shifts smoothly. The car takes most pavement irregularities fairly well. I am impressed by the punishment the car will take. We drive it over 3,000 miles a year when it is very heavily loaded. It stands up to the load and still drives well."
George H., MN (2009 Honda CR-V)"good acceleration and great stopping ability"
Anonymous, IL (2009 Honda CR-V)"best car i've ever owned for handling in the rain. does excellent job."
Kevin K., NC (2009 Honda CR-V)"Sluggish acceleration"
Anonymous, MD (2009 Honda CR-V)"I've taken this CRV from NJ to Florida, Colorado, Michigan, South Dakota and Wyoming. Driving the CRV is easy and you get a good feel of the road. All in all you can't ask for much more since all those trips I never had an issue."
Steven V., NJ (2009 Honda CR-V)"same comments as apply to RAV4"
Anonymous, NC (2009 Honda CR-V)"Steers very nicely. Tight steering, handles extremely well for a small SUV."
Anonymous, ON (2009 Honda CR-V)"Comfortable and easy to handle"
Daniel H., NY (2009 Honda CR-V)"See my comments about the 2003 Civic, they are pretty well similar."
Anonymous, BC (2009 Honda CR-V)"It's peppy, but for extended periods of acceleration, like getting up to speed entering a freeway, it feels a little underpowered,"
Anonymous, TX (2009 Honda CR-V)"It's adequate in these areas"
Anonymous, NJ (2009 Honda CR-V)"Handling on black ice is surprisingly good. My extensive winter driving experience (living in Wyoming, traveling to Montana, and North Dakota), helps me appreciate predictability. Many, many all wheel drive, 4-wheel drives work well, but this one is the one least likely to disappoint the driver with an unpleasant surprise."
Ted L., WY (2009 Honda CR-V)"The acceleration, cruising, and braking are not smooth and feel slightly dangerous. For example: Acceleration: when leaving a stop, the car is either very slow to accelerate or give it more gas and it takes off. Slowing when approaching slow or stopped traffic: If you remove your foot from the accelerator (and don't apply brakes), the car continues on at the same speed for nearly 1/4 mile. Even on a slight incline. There is no fuel/brake saving way to approach a stop. Brakes: not smooth. When applying the brakes, the car will slow, then suddenly slow down dramatically, (everyone lurches forward in the car) then resume a reasonable slowdown. Steering- seems to be overly sensitive. Easy to overcorrect."
Elleyne B., CA (2009 Honda CR-V)"A lot of road noise."
Anonymous, NY (2009 Honda CR-V)"Good ride, slow acceleration . Pretty secure in snow driving"
Anonymous, PA (2009 Honda CR-V)"It does not accelerate very well."
Keith S., LA (2009 Honda CR-V)"good response and acceleration"
Anonymous, CA (2009 Honda CR-V)"Great acceleration and confident maneuvering at high speed while down shifting when avoiding obstacles."
Anonymous, NY (2009 Honda CR-V)"It's not a sports car or even a "sporty" car but the acceleration doesn't fail even on mountain grades. The handling is good with responsive, accurate steering even in emergency situations. You may want more, but you don't really need it."
Richard H., IL (2009 Honda CR-V)"good driving response"
Anonymous, PA (2009 Honda CR-V)"There is a fair amount of road noise while driving. Acceleration is good and handles quite well. I bought this car used and it has been a fabulous car."
Anonymous, IL (2009 Honda CR-V)"handles well under varied conditions. accelerates satisfactorily and safely entering freeway. Performs well on rural and back country roads."
Anonymous, BC (2009 Honda CR-V)"Despite being nearly ten years old it still accelerates drives much smoother than our other car which is 5 years newer"
Anonymous, IL (2009 Honda CR-V)"Handles well and accelerates very well in all road conditions."
Shelley W., NJ (2009 Honda CR-V)"Handling is very responive Power is adequate for most situations."
Anonymous, NC (2009 Honda CR-V)"No problem accelerating and the car handles well in all kinds of weather."
Linda I., PA (2009 Honda CR-V)"view out the rear not good"
Dan M., CA (2009 Honda CR-V)"Right at warranty expiration the car started falling apart. Even with a major tune up, mileage has gone down. The engine is noisier, and acceleration is not as sensitive. Real disappointment. Even the ac compressor failed."
Anonymous, TX (2009 Honda CR-V)"not the greatest for acceleration but definitely not the worst"
Anonymous, MN (2009 Honda CR-V)"Car feels very firm and sturdy. Handling response is comfortable. Engine is very responsive. Nice car!"
Anonymous, VA (2009 Honda CR-V)"All wheel drive does well in snow"
Harold M., WV (2009 Honda CR-V)"Overall very good car"
Anonymous, PA (2009 Honda CR-V)"It still has good pickup and handles great. I feel comfortable went getting on the interstates and accelerating to merge into the traffic lane."
Thomas C., TN (2009 Honda CR-V)"Realibity"
Anonymous, GA (2009 Honda CR-V)"Handle well, AWD works well when needed automatically."
Anonymous, PA (2009 Honda CR-V)"turning radius"
Anonymous, GA (2009 Honda CR-V)
"Acceleration is only adequate. Seats are very comfortable, and steering is responsive."
MIKE A., IL (2009 Honda CR-V)
