What Owners Say
"It has power to move when you need it. Handling is responsive Would buy a CRV again."
Shelia F., SC (2011 Honda CR-V)"Excellent"
James H., NL (2011 Honda CR-V)"Lame driving dynamics. You need to bury the foot in the floor to get any sort of power. The revs build, the noise goes up but the speedometer doesn't budge. The lean is terrible. The MPG at 70 mph is terrible. The vehicle seems to be happy only at 45 mph and not above or below it. The seats are terrible and I get a back-ache every time I drive it."
Anonymous, TX (2011 Honda CR-V)"It's a big sluggish."
Anonymous, OR (2011 Honda CR-V)"lackluster performance, terrible passing gear"
Anonymous, MO (2011 Honda CR-V)"Very adequate power and comfortable ride."

Judith B., FL (2011 Honda CR-V)"I wish it had a little more initial acceleration"
Anonymous, PA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Reasonably peppy for a Civic-based car. I just wish the gas mileage were better."
Anonymous, MA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Very slow accelerator pedal response (1 second lag in any noticeable torque appearing) is dangerous because I find myself mashing the accelerator pedal earlier and earlier to compensate for slow response when making a turn into cross-traffic from a stopped position. Accelerator pedal reaponse severely lags despite good power at higher RPMs."
Anonymous, OH (2011 Honda CR-V)"handles very well"
K C., MA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Underpowered. Poor acceleration."
Anonymous, NY (2011 Honda CR-V)"It has great handling, but terrible road noise (at least on the highway)!"

Anonymous, MD (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration/handling are satisfactotory"
Anonymous, PA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Excruciatingly slow acceleration. Especially when on a highway ramp with a full car. Very slow. Steering is loose but works well. Brakes seem too small and weak also."
Jeffrey B., NY (2011 Honda CR-V)"Generally this is quite satisfactory although it would be more interesting to drive if the handling was sharper such as that of the Mazda version of this vehicle"
Anonymous, ON (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is sluggish for passing."
Anonymous, VA (2011 Honda CR-V)"bought this car for that reason - burst acelleration when needed - entering a freeway, etc. Handing great, turns on a dime."
Anonymous, AZ (2011 Honda CR-V)"From the time this vehicle was new, acceleration has been somewhat sluggish. We occasionally use high-test gasoline and it *might* help with the acceleration issue a little bit."
S M., PA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Sure footed."
Anonymous, NY (2011 Honda CR-V)"4 cylinder is sufficient for the highway. typical small crossover handling. I would buy again"
Joseph P., OH (2011 Honda CR-V)"The acceleration is good and breaking system quite accurate."
Anonymous, FL (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration could be better. Entering onto the highway can be tricky. I have to proceed with extreme caution due to the poor exceleration."

Anonymous, MN (2011 Honda CR-V)"underpowered esp. with a/c on"
Anonymous, VA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Somewhat noisy in cabin"
Anonymous, OH (2011 Honda CR-V)"I have driven my 2002 for 16 yrs. The 2011 is much more powerful, but my 2002 had only a 2.4 L engine. The 2011 engine is larger. I drive in FL, but also in the Pocono mountains, so my gas mileage and driving experience vary quite a bit. Now I plan to use my 2011 in PA and keep my 2002 in FL. The 2011 has better acceleration and a traction control feature that feels more secure on curvy mountainous roads."
Carol M., FL (2011 Honda CR-V)"Drives good but very slow on acceleration"
Anonymous, SC (2011 Honda CR-V)"The transmission doesn't downshift to accelerate fast enough when using the A/C. 10 to 20 more horsepower would help. However, I view this as a somewhat minor inconvenience."
Anonymous, TX (2011 Honda CR-V)"just average in both areas"
Dan G., CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"The handling is fine for a family car, but I wish it accelerated a bit more quickly. On parkways around here one has to go from a complete stop to highway speed in a very short time."
James A., CT (2011 Honda CR-V)"The CR-V does not have very good pick-up."
John L., MD (2011 Honda CR-V)"The "ride" is somewhat rough and the road noise is rather high and distracting."
Anonymous, VA (2011 Honda CR-V)"rapid acceleration is somewhat sluggish but evens out as you go"
Anonymous, IN (2011 Honda CR-V)"See prior answer"
James B., IA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Great acceleration and handling."
Anonymous, ID (2011 Honda CR-V)"nice"
Anonymous, MI (2011 Honda CR-V)"very good"
Michael O., LA (2011 Honda CR-V)"This. CRV has been the most dependable and reliable car I have ever owned. After over 120000 miles I have had no equipment failures of any kind. It continues to ride and handle like a new car."
Clare F., KY (2011 Honda CR-V)"It drives well but is unpredictable as to how much engine noise there is. Sometimes it’s quiet but other timess there’s a lot of clanking from engine."
Andrew L., CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"doesn't have enough pick up when accelarating"
Anonymous, CT (2011 Honda CR-V)"Lazy acceleration, rolls in even moderate turns. Although all-wheel drive, we hesitate to use it on snowy roads."
Anonymous, KS (2011 Honda CR-V)"Handles like a garbage truck. accelerates just as poorly"
Peter B., ON (2011 Honda CR-V)"engine power & acceleration not impressive. honda has not done much to improve same"
Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"The crv on a whole handles very well cornering without pulling to any one side. Acceleration is very good.there is no hesitation I love Honda vehicles."
Anonymous, NC (2011 Honda CR-V)"The power level can be lacking at highway speeds above 65 where there are long grades, the engine struggles and downshifts with the engine revving. I get passed by semi's where the speed limit is 75. It handles well for a high profile, however the ride is harsh."
Ernest F., AZ (2011 Honda CR-V)"I wish the acceleration was better, but understand it is a 4 cylinder engine. There is a small delay between pressing the accelerator and the car responding."
Kari I., WI (2011 Honda CR-V)"Bumpy ride. Poor acceleration. Tinny sound."
David N., CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Accelerates well and handles well."

Anonymous, DE (2011 Honda CR-V)"Drives and handles fine... especially for around town driving... Underpowered and noisy on highway..."
Anonymous, SC (2011 Honda CR-V)"Should have bought a more powerful version. Sluggish on freeway especially when traveling with more than two passengers."
Dyann B., CT (2011 Honda CR-V)"This Car handles great. Very responsive steering and surprisingly great acceleration for a 4 cylinder."
Kurt K., CO (2011 Honda CR-V)"Good steering feel, corners without too much body lean, excellent brakes, adequate acceleration."
Harry C., OK (2011 Honda CR-V)"I drive a little under the speed limit (2-3 mph), and I don't race between stop lights, but think my CR-V has more than average acceleration. I have also driven it in the mountains of Tn and NC on winding roads with local drivers pushing, and the handling was very good."
Anonymous, IN (2011 Honda CR-V)"The suspension is tuned to have better handling. However, this makes the car feel every bumps on the road surface. Since this isn't a sports car, the acceleration is acceptable."
Anonymous, BC (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration needs improvement. Car struggles when air conditioning is on. Also I am on the 3rd car battery which seems excessive given the car is only 7 years old."
Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"over 100,000 and still going strong"
Anonymous, FL (2011 Honda CR-V)"This car is very quick and responsive - lots of fun to drive. The vehicle is very light though so in the winter I put on snow tires otherwise it slides around a lot."
Anonymous, ON (2011 Honda CR-V)"The 2011 CRV is the reason we bought the 2017 CRV. It accelerates well and is nice to drive. It has 129000 miles and has never required a repair, other than maintenance. Very reliable!"
Elliot K., IN (2011 Honda CR-V)"Engine is responsive with quick acceleration and I love how car handles."
Anonymous, FL (2011 Honda CR-V)"Does what advertised, but does get pushed around in strong wind. Not as steady as could be"
Anonymous, NY (2011 Honda CR-V)"easy smooth responsive steering"
Anonymous, OR (2011 Honda CR-V)"Adequate not outstanding"
Richard D., NY (2011 Honda CR-V)"Vehicle is under powered and only has one engine available. Merging successfully on the freeway always requires the kindness of strangers."
Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Sluggish acceleration at freeway entering. Concerned about the rollover warning."
Anonymous, MN (2011 Honda CR-V)"Handling and acceleration are great for a 4 cylinder!"
Greg L., TN (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration - fine; handles - fine; handles in snow - excellent, under proper acceleration never fishtails & just keeps tracking on!!"
Anonymous, VA (2011 Honda CR-V)"We have the base 4 cyl. engine and I think acceleration is somewhat poor, especially going up hills. The car sometimes has to work too much. Even so, gas mileage is not that great compared to my other car, a Subaru Forester."
DAVID H., NJ (2011 Honda CR-V)"The Transmission is definitely tuned to get good fuel economy which it does quite well. This also hinders performance to the point of being dangerous at times. It is difficult to accelerate rapidly without manually shifting the transmission into a lower gear. I drive extensively in the mountains and to climb the steep roads that I drive on regularly, you must manually shift down into 1st gear both for descending and climbing. The only way the transmission will downshift on its own is if you"
Anonymous, CO (2011 Honda CR-V)"Poor acceleration. Handling is acceptable. Would have expected much better fuel efficiency."
CHRIS R., CT (2011 Honda CR-V)"4 cylinder engine struggles with steep hills."

Anonymous, TX (2011 Honda CR-V)"Ride is a little rough on road with expansion joints"
KEVIN C., AZ (2011 Honda CR-V)"The acceleration occasionally hesitates."
Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"The 4 cylinder engine is not strong nor accelerates well enough. I would like a V-6 in it."
Anonymous, VA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Easy to maneuver; good turning radius well controlled steering at interstate speeds"
Anonymous, TN (2011 Honda CR-V)"I know the small engine helps get good gas mileage and most of the time the engine is fine. However, with a full load and climbing some hills or mountains the engine strains. Merging on the highway can be difficult if you are entering on a hill. I would have preferred a more powerful engine."
Anonymous, AZ (2011 Honda CR-V)"It would be nice if had a few more horsepower but not at the expense of gas mileage. The transmission shifts flawlessly when accelerating but does not downshift soon enough when you are moving and have to accelerate."
Anonymous, TX (2011 Honda CR-V)"Not enough engine torque below 5,000 RPM's."
DENISE K., NV (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration -- hesitation before kicking in. Overall handling is good"
FAITH W., ME (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration lag at times...RPMs go to "3" before going back down to normal of "2" or "2.5". Found out from other owners on Honda CRV Forums that possible need for PGM-FI software update per Service Bulletin #10-077."
ANDREA P., PA (2011 Honda CR-V)"The acceleration is poor at highway speeds or pulling out into traffic. When crossing a steap bridge I have to constantly depress the accelerator to barely maintain 60 mph. The ride is jumpy (we have checked tire pressure) and does not "hug the road". A tiring road trip to say the least."
Anonymous, NJ (2011 Honda CR-V)"Automatic climate control is like non I have ever experienced before!"
ARCHIE G., ON (2011 Honda CR-V)"reliability"
Anonymous, NJ (2011 Honda CR-V)"Slow off the start. Need plenty of lead time pulling into traffic."
Anonymous, GA (2011 Honda CR-V)"I do at least half of my driving on unpaved country roads, and the car has never landed in a ditch due to swerving because of animals, pot holes or cars coming over a hill on my side of the road. It is very stable."
CATHERINE R., IL (2011 Honda CR-V)"AWD is noisy. Could use better acceleration"
Anonymous, PA (2011 Honda CR-V)"The power/acceleration of this car is anemic yet we still get lower than advertised gas milage"
Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"good acceleration considering engine size, perfect all- around vehicle if you're not concerned about physical appeal. love it."
JOHN A., OH (2011 Honda CR-V)"Battery runs down in 4 days if not driven"
ROLLIN C., CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"wish it had a little more power and a better-shifting transmission"
WILLIAM S., GA (2011 Honda CR-V)"I've had one experience of unintended acceleration in February 2016 which had me a little scared. I've not had any problems since. Don't know if the problem was the fault of the car or operator as I was wearing snow boots at the time this happened."
Anonymous, OH (2011 Honda CR-V)"Car needs more powerful engine with better acceleration and better fuel economy. More gears in the transmission would also help, maybe a 6 speed."
Anonymous, NV (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is very slow on this vehicle in relation to other brands of the same year. Once it gets going, it drives well."
Anonymous, GA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Steering is unreliable. Incident in February, where steering wheel jerked right-left-right twice without any input from driver. No explanation from the dealer. Honda Canada refuses to answer."
MARGARET R., ON (2011 Honda CR-V)"I like how it drives, it is very dependable. I like the interior. This is the best car I have had."
DONNA P., MA (2011 Honda CR-V)"CR-V drives OK, but I like our Accord better. Guess I would prefer ride/handling of a sedan over most SUVs. The CR-V has developed A LOT of noise over the past 4-5 months that makes it difficulty to carry on a conversation with people in the back seat. We have had it checked by dealership, an independent mechanic and tire shop. We have tried rotating tires again and adjusting the tire pressure. (It started after a regularly scheduled tire rotation.) No one seems to be able to significantly"
BRUCE F., NC (2011 Honda CR-V)"The car has no pickup and struggles on hills, even with no extra cargo at all. I'm surprised at the low mpg, although in terms of mpg, my comparison car is my Toyota Corolla, so I am a little biased."
Anonymous, CT (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is weak. Fuel economy is just so so."
ROLAND L., CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Performance here is what you would expect only in a higher priced"
Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Poor acceleration. Especially when on hills."
ASHUTOSH T., NY (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is quite good."
ANDREA W., MA (2011 Honda CR-V)"The acceleration in this car is pretty awful. Sometimes if we use high test gasoline, it improves a little bit but not enough to use high test all the time. We are not at all happy with this vehicle especially because we normally keep our cars for years and we feel STUCK with this car."
S M., PA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Very underpowered. Revs to high RPMs before changing gears. A/C really cuts down on power."
Anonymous, NY (2011 Honda CR-V)"Handling the CRV is great. Most or all V4s, however, don't offer me the needed quick acceleration on two lane highways. For safety's sake, I simply hold back until there is sufficient room to pass. V6s offer the necessary acceleration so that passing is quite possible and safe. ."
Anonymous, ON (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is slow to respond..a definite slow reaction."
SUSAN H., MA (2011 Honda CR-V)"good"
DANIEL C., TX (2011 Honda CR-V)"180 Horse Power is not enough. With the air on, stealing power, getting into traffic can be slow. I know Honda can build more push in this four banger without compromising efficiency."
ANTHONY P., FL (2011 Honda CR-V)"This vehicle is a little under powered, which is especially noticeable on steep hills and merging. It tends to raise the engine when accelerating in these conditions, as compared to my Toyota Camry"
MICHAEL G., NY (2011 Honda CR-V)"no acceleration whatsoever very little back seat room small cargo space with a useless shelf too many blind spots head rests that tilt forward to give you a neckache no vision at night when backing up"
GLORIA L., NJ (2011 Honda CR-V)"would like more acceleration"
GEORGE N., MA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Not a quiet driving car! Poor seating for back and arm rests hard and poor arm height!"
Anonymous, NC (2011 Honda CR-V)"Drives very well in bad weather especially in slippery conditions."
R C., MI (2011 Honda CR-V)"The CRV is under powered, especially in the hilly terrain where I live. Steering and handling are acceptable for this type of vehicle."
Anonymous, PA (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is ok not great, feels like it has a bit of hesitation"
ROBERT C., NJ (2011 Honda CR-V)"Does not have much pep when accelerating."
Anonymous, OH (2011 Honda CR-V)"slow to accelerate to pass cars, going uphill"
KARIN S., DE (2011 Honda CR-V)"It has excellent acceleration, is one of the smoothest rides for it's size you can find on the market today, and handles solidly."
C C., SC (2011 Honda CR-V)"Good acceleration."
Anonymous, WV (2011 Honda CR-V)"Good acceleration and smooth drivetrain with 2.4L 4 cylinder engine. Solid handling, steering and firm braking. Nice tight turning circle."
Anonymous, OR (2011 Honda CR-V)"The CRV handles very well. The acceleration is satisfactory but doesn't compare to our other Honda with a V6."
ROB F., WI (2011 Honda CR-V)"Acceleration is sluggish..bit more horsepower would help especially when using the air conditioning."
Anonymous, PA (2011 Honda CR-V)
"Good acceleration. Light and easy steering."
Anonymous, MD (2011 Honda CR-V)
