    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Catalytic converter

"Vehicle has 3 catalytic converters. All three failed at the same time. Dealership parts were astronomically expensive. After-market replacement parts were the only affordable option given the age and mileage of this vehicle. Parts arrived and some were not correct (incorrect orientation of mounting flange for rear converter). Ended up having repair shop order additional parts to complete the repairs."

Anonymous, TX (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring 3.5-L V6)

"Is not working. Use catalytic cleaner and it seems to help for a bit. Does not impact performance but engine light is always on. Not sure why honda has not build a better device..."

Anonymous, BC (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)
    Exhaust leaks

"Check engine light came on, so I took the van into the Honda dealer. I was told I needed to complete new exhaust system because there were leaks throughout the system."

    Anonymous A., MI (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)
    Other/unsure

"The rear sliding door opener will randomly not work making me open the doors manually which is difficult."

    Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)

Anonymous, HI (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring 3.5-L V6)

""Soft brake pedal, more pressure on the brake pedal required by the drive for the same amount of braking force.""

    Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)

Alternator, starter, hybrid battery replacement, hybrid battery related systems, regular battery, battery cables, engine harness, coil, ignition switch, electronic ignition, spark plugs and wires failure, auto stop/start.

    What Owners Say

    Alternator

    "Gave out at 103000"

    Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)

"2 alternators have gone bad. Probably why 2 batteries had to be replaced. In addition, Dealer and Honda specialist garage unable to clearly diagnose the electical issues we have had as an ongoing issue. The numerous warning lights all come on at one time and the car engine then will malfunction. Believe its a grounding issue, but nobody knows for sure. Very frustrating and makes the car undrivable due to the inability to rely on it."

    Anonymous A., VA (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)
    Coil

""I know the vehicle is getting rather old, but the car suddenly had a Cylinder 1 misfire that was not intermittent. The coilpacks aren't cheap enough to just replace like spark plugs, and of course it's on the rear bank by the firewall.""

    Anonymous, CT (2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)

    Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda Odyssey LX 3.5-L V6)

"Left rear door electric opening mechanism broke. Cost to repair would have been $1000, so we didn't repair it. Door opens and closes, but only manually now."

Anonymous, MA (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)

    Engine Major

Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.

    What Owners Say

    Engine rebuild or replacement

""Second time engine cylinders needed a rebuild. First time under warranty recall. The second time was when the vehicle was around 190 K in mileage. Honda Canada was awesome! After some extensive discussions between me, my service dealership and Honda Canada they paid about 75% of the costs.""

Anonymous, BC (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)
    Other major engine problem

"Piston rings had to be replaced due to the known VCM issues with this Honda engine."

    What Owners Say

Anonymous, TX (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring 3.5-L V6)
    Stability control (ESC)

"light came on same time ABS light came on. Dealer did same thing, reset computer and told me battery bad. took to original purchase store and they ran tests and said battery is good."

Anonymous, HI (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring 3.5-L V6)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

"We are unable to replace the CD/DVD with a new one because the machine won't spit the old one out."

    Anonymous A., WA (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

""This BT and my Android phone (Samsung S10+) do NOT like each other. The van prefers my wifes iphone (older model similar in age to my phone) and will pair with hers without issue all the time. 50% of the trips we take, even if my wife's phones BT is turned off or not even present, the van will constantly drop and cycle the BT connection with my phone. It will maintain connection for approx 1-3 min, then drop and cycle. It takes approx 1 full minute to cycle snd re-establish the BT connection. This will repeat until the van has been put in park, ignition turned off and the van has been restarted. That next "trip" (ignition after being off) will have an approx. 50% chance of the same pattern repeating. Very frustrating, but admittedly a very 1st World problem to have.""

    What Owners Say

    Other electrical system problem

"Spool valve oil leak onto Alternator caused alternator to fail. Had to stop twice and ask someone to charge our battery in order to get home. This required replacing the spool valve gasket and installing a new alternator."

    Anonymous, SC (2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)

""One of the side passenger doors can no longer be opened (or closed). It was a slow degradation of function where it would mostly close, but not quite, causing the battery to drain. Sometimes it would try to re close interminably. After googling the problem, it seems common in this era van. The suggestion was to remove the fuse until we need the door, but this affects both doors. This van is mostly driven by our teenage son, and I don't trust him to manage the tiny fuse. We have closed the errant door and set the child safety switch on the driver's side to avoid accidents. We just don't open the door. When we need access, we use the other door.""

    Anonymous A., WA (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)
