David C., ON (2014 Honda Odyssey LX 3.5-L V6)"It has had to have brake service twice since 2014. Apparently it’s weight is at the high end of the engineered capability of the brakes, therefore they tend to wear out early. I do not carry heavy loads so it is a design flaw, not me overloading the vehicle."

Anonymous, TX (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"This started after 2 years with 15,000 miles. On average we put 6,000 miles a year, no towing, seldom heavy loads, 65% stop and go - 35% highway. I am neither a lead foot or wait to the last second to apply brakes to come to a stop. The fix is new front pads and rotors every 2 years to get rid off the pulsating problem. I have tired different rotor manufactures (wagner, bendix, raybestos) but after about 2 years the pulsation comes back. I even lubricate the caliper slide /bolts every year, and the caliper slides back/forth smoothly. Best I can figure is undersized rotors for size/weight of odyssey."
Anonymous, NY (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"When we purchased this car (used, about 48,000 miles on it), the brakes pulsed slightly upon light application. The Honda dealer turned the rotors and said they would need to be replaced if the problem returned. the pulsation returned after about two years (about 13,000 miles). I replaced the rotors and pads, and the pulsation ceased. (The pads were less than half worn; I replaced them only because it was recommended to replace them when replacing the rotors.)"

Robert C., TX (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"My wife (always the wife's fault right :-D). She did a long decent using the brakes rather than letting he transmission downshift. I just have to replace the front rotors. I know that the 2014 Odyssey's have a problem with this anyway so it's not really her fault. I plan to do a brake job this weekend."

Anonymous, UT (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"The front rotors on this car became warped with fewer than 25,000 miles of use. The dealer claimed that this was normal and not covered by warranty. The pulsation worsened until finally, at about 60,000 miles, the rotors had to be replaced."
Anonymous, PA (2014 Honda Odyssey LX 3.5-L V6)"We have had the front brakes replaced twice in the first 80,000 miles due to pulsating. It seems to only take one hard braking episode to cause the rotors to warp. We had third party rotor put on the second time and the issue has not recurred."
Anonymous, GA (2014 Honda Odyssey Touring 3.5-L V6)"At 14,000 miles the bakes started to pulsate, pretty annoying considering it came in at around $50k."

Anonymous, ON (2014 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)"For the second time since we have owned the van, we have had to have the rotors machined. Otherwise, we get considerable vibration when breaking. We've never had this problem with any other vehicle, and we know another Odyssey owner that has had the same problem. Apparently, Honda is using substandard parts to other manufacturers. Due to this, we will never buy another Honday."
Anonymous, (2014 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)"The rotors warp. I have had them fixed once under warranty and they need replaced again. I feel the brakes are under designed, ie too small, for the weight/size of the vehicle."

Anonymous, WI (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Had vibration in rotors off and on for years when braking. One Honda service rep suggested we were driving with foot on brake. When I mentioned no issues with other vehicles the past 45 years there was simply silence in response. Honda resurfaced once and we ultimately had new rotors installed elsewhere."
Anonymous, FL (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Rotors were warped causing a vibration when braking, this was the second time for this problem so the rotors couldn't be machined and needed to be replace"
Anonymous, (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Front Rotors warped repeatedly. They were replaced twice under warranty and then once as a "courtesy" by Honda. The last time the front rotors warped I had them replaced by my mechanic with "performance" rotors, which have been fine ever since. The front rotors are a weak spot on this car."
Anonymous, NJ (2014 Honda Odyssey LX 3.5-L V6)"I have had the rotors machined several times to the point where I was warned about reaching a point of not being able to do that anymore. I complained that I had chronic vibration with braking, especially at high speeds and was deeply concerned about safety with my family in the car. Researched the issue and was surprised that rotors warping on Odyssey's was perceived as a metallurgical issue and that kits were available that resisted the heat and did not warp. My Honda dealer, who has been really good to us, said there was nothing they could offer, so I paid for the rotor upgrade and magically the issue has totally disappeared. It was $1,133.00 to replace brakes and rotors on all four wheels, but think it was worth it. The Odyssey has been nothing short of amazing for us since 2014."
Anonymous, FL (2014 Honda Odyssey Touring 3.5-L V6)"Had to change rotors and brakes after 15000 miles. Honda would fix the problem. Poor original rotors was the issue."

Anonymous, WI (2014 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)"The rotors have warped multiple times since owning the vehicle. I had them fixed under warranty and they need repaired again."
Tim M., KS (2014 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)"When we got the car we complained about the shaking when braking, but Honda did nothing, so we replaced the rotors with the recommended replacement. We needed to replace AGAIN one year later and auto parts would only sell the top of the line rotors for our honda, so we knew the rotors were faulty.. Brakes still aren't great, but haven't had to replace since then."
Anonymous, PA (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"rotors warped at 20000 miles.I am NOT an aggressive driver. Replaced with aftermarket rotors at half of Honda's $860 quoted replacement price."

Anonymous, IL (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Rotors were designed incorrectly and Honda would not do anything to fix the problem. They finely changed the rotor design and the new ones have worked very well so far. Only time will tell if it was really fixed. Customer had to pay to get this issue fixed."
David D., SC (2014 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite 3.5-L V6)"The front rotors are not built to stand up to the weight of the vehicle and so it develops pulsing and vibrations when slowing down quickly on the highway. This happened even after the first couple of years"
Anonymous, MD (2014 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite 3.5-L V6)"When traveling down hill in mountainous regions at a 6% incline and using the brakes, the vehicle shakes so bad that it is difficult to hold on to the steering wheel. This has been happening since about 6,000 miles on the car. I have had 3 different Honda service centers examine the brakes and all tell me there is nothing wrong with the brakes. This also happens when I travel long distances in a day, traveling at about 70 miles per hour, and then exiting the highway and applying the brakes. The shaking may not be as bad as when in the mountains but it is still pretty bad."
Daniel B., AZ (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Front rotors warped at about 22,000 miles causing a front end shimmy when braking at highway speeds. The dealership claimed due to hard braking but I know that wasn't the case, brake pads are still good and Honda came out with a new rotor design with more cooling. They offered to turn the rotors but my research showed that they would warp again in a few thousand miles. Opted to replace with the redesigned rotors at my own expense $450. After writing to Honda they did send me a gift card for $150 but I'm disappointed in Honda for not addressing a design flaw!"

Anonymous, IA (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"When I bought the car the front rotors warped withing a few drives on the highway. It was covered under the used car warranty, brakes and rotors. Then the rear brakes made noise. I replaced the rotors, brakes and one of the caliper pins was frozen. I cleaned it up, put honda brakes and rotors on. Stopped perfect after this."
Roger L., PA (2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)"I was experiencing front wheel shake through the steering wheel when braking at highway speed as though the rotors were warped. Honda turned rotors at 16K and at 27K for the same issue. I had a private shop turn rotors at 37K for the same shaking issue. Right now I have had rotors turned for warping 4 time. Honda dealer wanted to replace rotors and pads at a cost of $520. My response was why should I trust Honda's replacement parts when they couldn't fix original equipment? Parts are bad or technicians don't pay attention. I have a case number from Honda as I registered my complaint. Honda needs a recall."
