What Owners Say
"A/C stopped working on a 3 hour trip to Canada"

Glenn S., OH (2005 Honda Pilot EX 3.5-L V6)"No air"
Anonymous, NY (2005 Honda Pilot 3.5-L V6)"Not entirely sure that it is the AC Compressor. Suspect it has something to do with the coolant (freon?). System does not cool as it used to. So I think I need to have the fluids checked, replaced (flushed and replaced)."
Anonymous, CA (2005 Honda Pilot Unsure 3.5-L V6)"Seized"
Anonymous, NJ (2005 Honda Pilot EX 3.5-L V6)"Just needs freon"

Anonymous, AZ (2005 Honda Pilot EX 3.5-L V6)"Flapper was stuck in middle, so would not close all the way for heat or cooling. Replaced and A/C felt like a meat locker again."
Anonymous, GA (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"A/C not cold enough, heat not hot enough"
Anonymous, NY (2005 Honda Pilot 3.5-L V6)"Air mixer control motor chatters and needs to be replaced"

Tom C., CA (2005 Honda Pilot EX 3.5-L V6)"heater control does not work"
Anonymous, GA (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Heat would not come on when it got cold. When fixed, got too hot and cool air would not be let in. Ended up replacing a valve for $30 that the dealer wanted over $600."
Anonymous, VA (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"the heat and or the air conditioning would get stuck on. blowing broiling hot air full blast no matter what setting it would be on. then suddenly on day it would work fine for a couple of months. several repair shops were unable to fix it because it had to be malfunctioning at time of appointment and it would miraculously work. (And then stop working a couple days later. Finally AAA diagnosed the problem. Something wrong with the sensor. Didn't work correctly probably 2 years. Finally fixed. Whew."
Anonymous, NC (2005 Honda Pilot 3.5-L V6)"does not maintain a consistent temperature"
Anonymous, OH (2005 Honda Pilot EX 3.5-L V6)"the mixer? went bad and caused the heat to suddenly switch to A/C and vice versa. This problem required a repair at dealership as no local mechanics could get the part/had equipment to fix"
Anonymous, GA (2005 Honda Pilot EX 3.5-L V6)"The blower motor/compressor went out on the rear air unit"
Anonymous, KY (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Blowe fan has been loud for most of my HOnda's life. The mechanic tries to fix it, but the loud noise from teh fan keeps coming back"
Joan G., MD (2005 Honda Pilot EX 3.5-L V6)"Blower was flaky, i.e., it made noises from a wheeze to a crescendoed racket, when we bought the car in 2010; we got an estimate for a replacement but it was more than we wanted to pay. The blower finally died this month and will be replaced"
R S., NJ (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Blower had to be replaced"
Matthew K., IA (2005 Honda Pilot 3.5-L V6)"It seems there is blockage in the ductwork, but I have checked out and cannot seem to locate any blockage. The blower does not provide adequate circulate and air force."
Peter H., MI (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Rodents made a nest in the air blower causing it to malfunction. The nest was cleared out. Fortunately the blower worked again but it makes a noise that it didn't make before."
Ken H., NJ (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"A mouse had built a nest in the ductwork"
Anonymous, AB (2005 Honda Pilot LX 3.5-L V6)"It stopped blowing air. I couldn't get the vehicle to defrost the windshield. Repaired the motor, but it still makes a strange noise and occasionally sounds like something gets stuck (it screams at me). At that point, I have to turn off the fan to stop the noise"
Melissa V., OH (2005 Honda Pilot LX 3.5-L V6)"My Honda blower motor and air mix motor both needed replacement. Honda has high failure rate on these parts, and take advantage of this by charging a high price for replacement parts"
Steve P., NC (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"One of the fan motors that controls the hot/cold air flow makes a rattling noise behlow the passenger side dashboard that sounds like mice chewing on the system. It's been doing that for the last 80 thousand miles. Someday I might get around to changing the little motor, it is sort of anoying"
Anonymous, VA (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Blower fan motor seized, replacement made with moderate effort."
Anonymous, GA (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Rear vents stopped flowing air. Need to replace blower motor and resistor which is a common repair."
John M., GA (2005 Honda Pilot EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Centre console air conditioning started making clunking noises, then no air was being blown. I believe the transformer needed to be replaced"
Anonymous, ON (2005 Honda Pilot LX 3.5-L V6)"Corrosion required replacement of evaporator and high pressure hoses. Cost over $800"
John Q., PA (2005 Honda Pilot LX 3.5-L V6)"The AC emits frosty mist on humid days or when it is raining. The AC then "ices" up and becomes less effective. I need to turn off AC to defrost the unit in order to get it to work again"
Jaime F., TX (2005 Honda Pilot LX 3.5-L V6)"Heated seats no longer work, but I cannot determine why. Not a big issue on a 13 year old vehicle, but a nuisance nonethelss."
