Honda Prologue

""With my Prius Prime (that the Prologue replaced) in winter (wearing heavy winter coat) I would set climate to 61 and it would heat the cabin to a comfortable temperature. In summer I would set it between 74 and 76 depending on the intensity of the incoming sun and what I was wearing and it would cool the cabin to a comfortable temperature. With the Prologue if I set the climate to anything below 69 it will blow cold air even if the cabin is feeling cold and even if I press the heat button. The dealer service said this is working as designed and Honda corporate was completely unhelpful beyond telling me that minimum temperature setpoint for heat is 70 and to file a report with NHTSA (which I did). With heat set to 69 or 70, eventually it heats it up to where it is too warm with the heavy winter coat. If I then try dialing it down even 1 degree it blasts my face with cold air. If I turn off the climate control entirely to stop that, sometimes the windshield starts fogging. The problem isn't only with heating. Recently on some days when the car was warm but outside temperature was in the low 70s, the car was blowing heat at any temperature setting above 71. I think the climate control software is defective and the temperature sensor(s) might also be placed such that the system gets confused when the sun is making the upper part of the cabin feel too warm but the area from the seat down is cooler. My experience with automatic climate control in multiple Toyota cars was very good. By comparison, the Honda's climate control is awful. Extremely disappointing for an over $50,000 car. This one issue alone makes me hesitant to buy another Honda vehicle. This problem alone means I will definitely turn the car in at the end of the 3 year lease (rather than buying it out) even if tariffs mean I have to spend a lot more to replace it.""
