The market for electric vehicles has blossomed since the original Chevrolet Bolt was released in 2017. Most automotive brands are now selling EVs, so to challenge its competition, Chevrolet has updated the Bolt and created a new version that’s branded as an EUV (Electric Utility Vehicle).
This new member of the Bolt family is built on a modified version of the existing Bolt’s platform, and while it’s not quite a breakthrough product of the original, and its SUV attributes are truly skin deep, it expands Chevrolet’s EV offering.
The Bolt EUV uses the same 200-hp motor powering the front wheels that helped make the original Bolt feel quick and enjoyable to drive. However, the battery carries over as well. The extra size and mass of the EUV sacrifices 12 miles of EPA estimated electric driving range, for a total of 247 miles, compared with 259 miles for the regular redesigned Bolt.
