10 Best Deals on Electric Vehicles

EVs are available with large rebates, and many are still eligible for tax credits, at least for now

Right now is a great time to buy an electric vehicle. Several automakers are offering large customer rebates, and many models are still eligible for tax credits that expire on Sept. 30, 2025. Plus, you’ll probably find that dealerships are eager to negotiate as the model year winds down and newer models begin arriving.

For this list, Consumer Reports studied current national incentives to identify the best deals on new EVs. We factored in rebates and the overall potential for negotiation, based on data from our partner TrueCar. We used these numbers to establish a bottom-line price for you to target, whether negotiating with dealerships on your own or using a car-buying service like CR’s Build and Buy. As always, local supply and demand will influence how much a dealer is willing to bend on price, but these numbers are a good starting point.

Below, we highlight 10 EVs from Audi, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, and Volkswagen for the 2025 model year.

The nationwide incentives featured below are good on the highlighted vehicles until at least Sept. 2, 2025. The vehicles are listed in rank order by the percentage of potential savings off the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, which is 6 to 26 percent this month. This means some cars are available with $7,500 and even $10,000 rebates! (And yes, there may be additional savings through federal tax credits and other incentives.)

Similar discounts can be found on other versions in addition to the specific trim and configuration that we spotlight as examples. To focus on models most new-car shoppers might consider, we omitted some higher-end models to keep the bottom-line prices under $50,000.

This list illustrates the big savings EVs buyers can find right now. Similar discounts are available on many other higher-priced models not covered here.

More information about the highlighted models—including road-test results, reliability details, and further pricing insights—is available on their model pages. Just click through their names.

Some models below also qualify for tax credits, with restrictions and income qualifications. Numerous factors determine eligibility; not every EV or buyer qualifies. Learn more about tax credits from the IRS. Where applicable, we indicate the models that are listed as tax credit eligible by the U.S. Department of Energy, meaning the final cost would be less than the listed bottom-line price.
