The Ford Mustang Mach-E and Kia EV6 are two of the new breed of electric vehicles (EVs) that can deliver long range without sacrificing comfort, storage, or performance. The Ford is available in a variety of configurations, with range estimates between 224 and 314 miles, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA rates the Kia at between 232 and 310 miles of range, depending on the version.

But range is just one aspect of these two models. While they can certainly go the distance for everyday use, there are other factors buyers have to weigh. Does their styling make visibility a challenge? How easy are the controls to master? Is there enough room for my family…and their stuff?

    More on EVs and Hybrids

To answer those questions—and many more—we take an in-depth look at these two EVs to compare how they fare in CR’s testing and surveys. We also note which advanced safety equipment—such as forward collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning (BSW), and rear cross traffic warning (RCTW)—comes as standard or optional equipment. Then, we let you know which one we think is tops.
