2024 Model Redesign Year
The all-electric, all-wheel-drive Wagoneer S shares little in common with the large, blocky gas-powered Wagoneer from which it derives its name. In fact, the five-passenger Wagoneer S is closer in size to the Grand Cherokee. It has a 100-kilowatt-hour battery and a pair of electric motors that crank out 500 hp and 524 lb.-ft. of torque on the base Limited version. The Launch Edition ratchets it to 600 hp. The EPA-estimated driving range is up to 294 miles.
The Wagoneer S is super quick, but it suffers from an uneven power delivery and a ton of torque steer. The ride is mostly smooth, but stopping distances were disappointing. We didn’t find the front or rear seats particularly comfortable. The cabin is quiet, with impressively little electric motor whine, but the interior appointments don’t live up to the lofty price tag. The complicated controls take a lot of patience and time to learn. There is no 2026 model but the Wagoneer S might return as a 2027 model.
