Complete failure of the unit, which also controls climate, back up camera, systems settings etc. dealer did a software update. This was fine for a week or so and it happened again. This time I got it working again by pulling the fuse and putting it back in. As this kept happening again and again the radio was replaced twice in 4 months. Convinced this wrangler is plagued with an electrical issue I sold it. I had zero confidence the electric issue would ever be found."

On 2 occasions, it failed to shift into third at all. Requiring a full stop, turn engine off and restart. The fix was replacing 2 clutch packs. 100% warranty covered. Works flawlessly now.""

I was provided with a free loaner during that time. I have a bumper to bumper 100,000 mile warranty that Jeep gave me when they had to replace my engine at 19,000 miles."

""It is nearly impossible to shift into and out when engaging and disengaging the transfer case. We flat tow the Jeep behind our RV and it is always a problem. Following directions exactly the process takes patience, brute force and tears, plus starting and turning off the car multiple times to complete the task. I have returned the vehicle to Jeep dealership who admits it is a difficult task but it can be done if car is positioned and allowed to roll slightly during the process. Very poor design and fatal flaw, probably would not buy this vehicle again""

"At about 6000 miles we noticed an oil leak. The dealer tried to fix it many times under warranty by replacing different parts. Each time it was unsuccessful. Eventually the manufacturer decided to just replace the engine. That stopped the oil leak problem."

"A mounting bracket for the diesel particulate filter broke which required replacement of the entire unit. This was covered by the emissions system warranty. If it was not covered under warranty then I would have welded the bracket to repair it."
