2025 Model Redesign Year

The Carnival is among the few minivans still for sale, but it carries on with fresh styling, an updated infotainment system, and an available hybrid version. The hybrid combines a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and electric drive to produce 242 hp, paired with a six-speed automatic. This resulted in 31 mpg overall in our testing, compared to 21 mpg with the regular V6 Carnival. A long 600-mile cruising range is an extra bonus. The powertrain is responsive and can propel the van on electric power alone in urban and suburban settings up to about 35 mph with a light throttle foot. The ride is firm and composed, and handling is sound but unexceptional.

Access is super easy, and the second-row seat is comfortable. Even the third row is hospitable, and it folds into the floor when not needed. Standard driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control; auto lane change is optional.

2025 Model Redesign Year

The Carnival minivan is refreshed for 2025, with updated styling, high-tech interior features, and a new optional hybrid version powered by a 242-hp turbocharged, four-cylinder hybrid engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine is a 287-hp V6 with an eight-speed automatic. The freshened Carnival looks a bit more SUV-like, with a front that reminds of the Telluride and extends accent lighting across part of the grille. The standard digital instrument display can be upgraded to a 12.3-inch screen that blends with the 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The infotainment system advances to Kia's latest technology, including multi-zone 'Hey Kia' voice recognition. Other available features include a color head-up display and a video rearview mirror--by feeding the mirror display with a camera behind the vehicle, it can provide a view without interference from headrests and passengers.
