What Owners Say
"Pre mature burnout of lamp"
Bob S., OH (2011 Kia Soul Base 1.6-L 4 Cyl)"At one time I had 7 exterior lights out, including at least one headlight, the dealership did not charge me for their replacement, manager discretion"
Cindy M., WA (2011 Kia Soul Exclaim 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"The same tail light kept failing"
Anonymous, SD (2011 Kia Soul Exclaim)"turn signal lights...when warm the clicking & lights speed up and then stop...first attempt to professionally fix failed...will repeat"
Ronald K., VA (2011 Kia Soul)"I have had to replace many lightbulbs mostly in the last year and I wonder about the quality of the bulbs."
Anonymous, WI (2011 Kia Soul Base 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"The check engine light has been on almost since the first day of purchase. I have had a dealership try to fix said problem, as of this date it has not been fixed"
Anonymous, IA (2011 Kia Soul Plus 1.6-L 4 Cyl)"Rt headlight became intermittent and I would have to jiggle the connection. It finally quit working and I had to have the blub and connector replaced. Had work done by my private mechanic at a cost of $82"
Jack K., AZ (2011 Kia Soul Plus 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Since purchasing the car in 2012, my headlights have needed replacement at least once a year, at one time I had 7 exterior lights out, I'm not sure why the headlights have burned out so often, but it drives me crazy"
Cindy M., WA (2011 Kia Soul Exclaim 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"the high beam filaments in the headlights would blow out frequently and there was never a good explanation for it. The alternator and voltage regulator were even replaced, so we couldn't blame it on a voltage surge. Was there a wiring issue near the headlamps? on both sides of the car, that seems improbable. Finally, the passenger side lamp went dim but not out one morning, and the probable fixes ranged from an initial part at $360 to potential trail of fixes that could total $1500...… I traded the car that afternoon....."
Susan C., PA (2011 Kia Soul 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"The headlights tend to go out every 4 or 5 months one at a time. They are replaced successfully but seem to go out when the potholes are the worst."
Anonymous, IN (2011 Kia Soul Unsure 1.6-L 4 Cyl)"Very expensive to have replaced. Over $250 to replace two headlights and two parking lights."
Anonymous, OH (2011 Kia Soul Exclaim 1.6-L 4 Cyl)"The horn works intermittently, and the dealer can't find the problem. It's been looked at three times"
Anonymous, WA (2011 Kia Soul Plus 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Horn failed, replacement is not loud"
Anonymous, MO (2011 Kia Soul Plus 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Sometimes it does not work"
Anonymous, UT (2011 Kia Soul Sport Unsure)"The horn works intermittently, and has been troublesome for several years. The dealership has dragged their feet about fixing it. I took it to another repair shop and they said they would just replace it for about $165. The dealership never offered this option, only advised me to bring it in and leave it overnight. The horn doesn't operate if it's too cold, or too hot, or just right. Frustrating and unsafe."
Anonymous, CA (2011 Kia Soul Exclaim 1.6-L 4 Cyl)"The remote didn't always work right away and when it finally did we couldn't always get the engine started without using the key in the door first. The interior starting button is VERY sensitive to several items (door locks/door open ,transmission i"
Anonymous, VA (2011 Kia Soul Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"My key fob stopped working. I could only open the driver's side with the actual key, and open the doors with the controls in the door. This did not include the hatch, so having this feature break down was a huge pain. I'm out of town right now and do not have access to my repair records, but the cost to fixing the issue was more expensive than I thought it would be. But I went about 2 weeks and had to get it fixed because it was really inconvenient."
Brenda R., SK (2011 Kia Soul)"Key fob key snapped in half. No replacement is available. Annoying."
Anonymous, (2011 Kia Soul Base Unsure)"Doesn't pair with anything."
Anonymous, (2011 Kia Soul Base Unsure)"from time to time, the dashboard would lose segments of the display, these would go out, sometimes for minutes, sometimes for days.... never could trace this either, as it was random, not related to weather, temps or any other pattern."
Susan C., PA (2011 Kia Soul 2.0-L 4 Cyl)
"Fuse blew for unknown reason causing car to stop operating. Fuse replaced. No more issues."
