What Owners Say

Headlights

""The GLC-300 low beam Digital LED headlights cast distracting moving shadows onto the roadway ahead. The shadows are constantly there, at times looking like a running animal; as a result, they make driving at night challenging and difficult. Also, the low beams are aimed too low, with a distinct and dark cut-off across the field of view, which limits roadway illumination, especially on unlit highways. Further, the dark cut-off off is not a smooth line, but is jagged in a stepwise pattern. Altogether, this makes for very unsafe driving conditions especially at highway speeds. These headlight issues were noted from the outset. The vehicle was brought to the dealership multiple times, kept for several weeks in total, with no resolution. I was told that the headlights were working as designed. No repair was offered. Requests to replace the headlights were refused. I attempted contact with Mercedes-Benz USA customer service. Initially I was advised to go to the dealership, despite having done so previously. A completed online survey got me in contact with a communications specialist with no apparent understanding of the gravity of my concerns, and no subsequent follow-up. I had requested contact information for anyone in engineering or automotive design who could provide an explanation, or had an interest in these problems. These requests were denied/ignored. These problems persist at this time, with no apparent manufacturer interest in their resolution. The internet identifies many similar complaints.""
