The freshened Nissan Maxima has a roomy interior, logical controls, and quick acceleration. However, the ride is ordinary, handling is not agile, the turning circle is wide and the car can be somewhat squirrely under hard acceleration. In some ways, the less expensive Nissan Altima is a better car.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

"you will not regret it"

Anonymous, VT (2007 Nissan Maxima)

"I considered its cost to be reasonable inasmuch as it is a top of the line with V6 engine, power everything, heated seats and steering wheel, etc. It actually has better acceleration than I desire. It is difficult for me start up without appearing to be a jackrabbit. This car sits idle for six months of the year and gets less than 2000 annual miles since the 2012 Prius was purchased. Prior to that we drove it to Florida several times and it was very comfortable. It is sleek looking even"

RALPH F., MA (2007 Nissan Maxima)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"ATTRACTIVE CARE THAT IS WELL DESIGNED INSIDE AND OUT. EVERYTHING WORKS WELL TOGETHER"

MIKE K., KY (2007 Nissan Maxima)

"Very sporty looking for a four door car."

Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?".
