The Murano scored very well in our tests and is a competitive model in the crowded SUV market. We like its powerful engine performance, nimble handling, strong brakes, comfortable rear seats and relatively good fuel economy. However, a stiff ride, limited rearward visibility, and its use of premium fuel are notable drawbacks.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

What Owners Say

“Seat mechanism that slides the front seats forward and backwards stops working overtime, to replace it you would need to replace the entire seat and mechanism which is horribly expensive. So you end up having a mechanic deactivating that control and leaving the seat in one position, which is difficult if you have more than one driver and they are not the same size.”

What Owners Say

“I've had a very good experience with this vehicle. Hope it continues for at least another two years. Gas mileage has decreased, but that's expected with a 12 year old automobile.”

What Owners Say

“I still get compliments about it when I'm at lights or in parking lots. The new ones are sleeker than mine but my color is still the best (I feel). Sunlit Copper.”
