The Nissan Murano is a comfortable SUV with high interior quality and refinement. While it has lost some of its sportiness, Murano gained a quieter, more comfortable ride. Its powertrain delivers lively acceleration and relatively good fuel economy. The rear seat and cargo area are roomy. Rear visibility remains a problem, a victim of styling. A blind-spot detection/lane-departure warning system is available.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

“Do not like the transmission, I cannot make smooth starts or stops. When stopping, many times my foot is on the brake and accelerator at the same time.”

Anonymous, IN (2012 Nissan Murano)

“The car is comfortable, has reasonable economy and serves the purpose for which it was purchased .”

DUNCAN W., TX (2012 Nissan Murano)

“I love this vehicle. It drives awesome! I can accelerate past anyone if needed to pass. The handling is great. Absolutely love it. Best vehicle I have ever owned. A little expensive but worth it. Bought it one year old so saved a bit there.”

Anonymous, TX (2012 Nissan Murano)

“The Murano rides and handles my comfort expectations. This is my second Murano.”

Anonymous, WI (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Spirited acceleration, quiet, powerful, all wheel drive is terrific and I am convinced the stability control kept me from having a serious accident as I steered violently to avoid hitting a dog as I drove at 55 mph. (And I did avoid the dog)”

STEVE W., NC (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Very average in both areas”

R W., AZ (2012 Nissan Murano)

“It is a very smooth riding vehicle with effortless acceleration.”

LINDA A., OK (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Great acceleration. Just a pleasure overall to drive.”

DAVID H., MA (2012 Nissan Murano)

“I am happy with the acceleration and the handling.”

ADELE W., AZ (2012 Nissan Murano)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

“Nissan and Infinity have the longest driver seat room. With long legs that have a hard time getting under the steering wheel, this is importent to me.”

Anonymous, FL (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Good support, comfortable, quiet and refined ride”

R M., TX (2012 Nissan Murano)

“too much road noise. driver's seat could be more comfortable (longer) for 6'-2' driver”

STEPHEN H., FL (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Seat comfort is more important to me than gas mileage. This vehicle has the best comfort of all I have owned in the past.”

S F., AZ (2012 Nissan Murano)

“I have been very satisfied with my Murano. The main problem I have with the car is the visibility out the back, and also out the front, I feel this could have been better.”

ADELE W., AZ (2012 Nissan Murano)

“The car is very comfortable, heated steering wheel is great, however the visibility out the rear of the car and large column pillars in front are a major concerns.”

Anonymous, MA (2012 Nissan Murano)

“seats and climate control, heated seats.”

JYHWEN W., CA (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Driver seat is so uncomfortable that I cannot drive more than 15 to 40 miles without my back getting so sore I have to stop and walk around the car. Have corrected this problem to some extent by putting a stadium cushion on the seat. The directional air flow from the heater and air conditioner system is so bad my wife complains constantly that she feels the effect from the drivers side vents on the passengers side of the car. Noise and ride have improved some with the new tires. Automatic seat”

Anonymous, IN (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Above average road noise. EOM tires only have 15K of wear”

Anonymous, NY (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Lots of very loud and annoying wind intrusion.”

BENNETT T., MD (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Driver's electric seat adjustments: not a true 6-way seat adjustment system. Needs improvement.”

Anonymous, IN (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Very quiet and comfortable on long rides. Climate control keeps car at set temp.”

DAN D., MA (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Not much leg room with car seats in the back seat.”

Anonymous, OK (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Very comfortable ride, great acceleration, love the heated seats, minimal noise”

NANCY C., ME (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Very smooth ride. Also the noise inside the car is very low.”

Anonymous, CA (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Our Murano is an exceptionally comfortable road car for long trips, especially for tall people. The seats are comfortably firm, but not squishy. The ride is smooth and the seats are infinitely adjustable for a varied position, including lumbar support on the drivers side. ( I wish it had lumbar support for the passenger too). This is especially good for our older bodies that have bad backs or get stiff easily.”

JAN S., CA (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Great controls, navigation, heated seats, heated steering wheel”

STEVE W., NC (2012 Nissan Murano)

“the seats are terrible; we have the premium leather, and they are excruciatingly uncomfortable”

LUCAS S., CO (2012 Nissan Murano)

“The armrest / console is too tall; needs to be lower.”

MICHAEL D., OK (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Automatic seat and mirror adjustment for two drivers. Quiet ride.”

DAVID H., MA (2012 Nissan Murano)

“I only have 1 Murano”

WILLIAM A., IL (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Air noise is high at highway speeds.”

PHILLIP W., KY (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Wind and road noise excessive”

Anonymous, NY (2012 Nissan Murano)

“It a very comfortable vehicle. The road noise is louder than I would like. The climate control is excellent for the front seats but the rear seats don't get enough AC.”

CHRISTINA S., TX (2012 Nissan Murano)

“Very quiet ride and the seats fit well. Love the heated steering wheel because at my age cold hands are almost a year round problem”

Anonymous, OR (2012 Nissan Murano)
