With this iteration, the long-running Pathfinder was transformed from a truck-based workhorse into a softer, gentler, car-based SUV with three rows and seven seats. The enlarged interior and easier access moved it closer to a family-friendly minivan substitute. But we found the Pathfinder to be a little too much like a minivan.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Anonymous, OH (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

Anonymous, PA (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"I can move into traffic and immediately accelerate to road speed."

Connie S., NJ (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"It handles and accelerates well Very comfortable on long trips"

Marion K., AL (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"It is VERY difficult to see out of the pathfinder. there are two big blind spots on the left and on the right where the side view mirrors and the roof support intersect. This is a big safety factor and I do find myself driving "blind.""

"Acceleration is quite decent and handling seems above average."

William B., HI (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"Handling and acceleration are excellent"

Mark G., KS (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

Anonymous, FL (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"Acceleration at low speed is sluggish"

Anonymous, OH (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"I wish the steering wheel was a bit smaller in circumference to make it easier to grip when turning. It's a little too large for me."

CHARLES V., OK (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"For a hybrid it runs great and has good acceleration. I enjoy watching the tach go to zero when the engine quits and the electric motor takes over."

JEFFREY R., MD (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"no low gear. not real 4wd"

Anonymous, HI (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"The V6 mated with the CVT makes for excellent response at any speed. There is always power available."

Anonymous, NY (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"solid feel,comfortable"

JOHN F., FL (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"Transmission appears to be 'hunting' for a gear (or whatever a CVC transmission uses) sometimes when accelerating calmly - this 'lumpy' feeling is only a concern that something is not quite right and it is usually forgotten until the next time it happens!"

Anonymous, FL (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

MIKE B., TX (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"We have 2 pre-set positions for 2 drivers. They do not always work properly and have to be re-set from time to time, especially after it is changed from 1 position to another, as it does not always go back to the other position when changed back."

JIM M., AL (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

DAVID S., NY (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)

"I thought that I was getting a good value however current resale value does not appear to be very good relative to what I paid for the vehicle. Why I do not know as it is a very nice and stylish auto."

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"It is difficult to see out of. The headrests for the middle and back row sets block the view. I usually leave those rows down. Also, the front outside mirrors and windshield pillars block the view. I also can't seem to get the outside mirrors adjusted correctly."

Anonymous, OK (2014 Nissan Pathfinder)
