Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

What Owners Say

Other/unsure

""We lived in and retired as eductors from bush Alasaka. We kept our cars garaged 500 miles away in Anchorage. Annually we logged 2000 miles per year for almost 20 years. During that protected time, several car parts aged and required replacement. It cost $1500 to change our timing belts. We changed them based on age without any performance issues. I have find no other other issues with the cars. I understand Subaru has changed to timing chains in the past decades.""

Anonymous A., AK (2007 Subaru Forester X 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"Engine light cant apparently stay off because filling it with gas causes it to come on"

Anonymous, OR (2007 Subaru Forester Unsure Unsure)

""This car has a chronic, very small, leak in the emission control system which the dealer is unable to find and correct. This causes the onboard computer to disable the cruise control feature until the computer has been reset. I had to purchase my own OBD device to enable me to reset the computer in order to enable the cruise control feature. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this automobile.""

Anonymous, NC (2007 Subaru Forester XT 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

Engine Minor

What Owners Say

Oil leaks

""The engine was leaking oil. Not much, but enough to convince us to have the seals replaced.""

Anonymous, HI (2007 Subaru Forester XT 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

""When I had my last oil change, they told me there was a leak, but not what was leaking. I can smell something hot when I drive the car. I have yet to have followed up with getting this looked into. I will be doing this shortly, b4 my next trip out of town.""
