What Owners Say

Other/unsure

"The windshield had to be replaced twice in the same year, and once last year. Too easily cracked"

Anonymous, ID (2024 Subaru Forester Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"Battery had to be replaced"

Anonymous, PA (2024 Subaru Forester Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

""The negative with the car is that sometimes when going at low speeds or at a stop, when you want to accelerate the car does not respond to the pressing of the gas petal right away, but instead takes a few seconds. I really don't like this since it can be dangerous (and scarry) when making a left turn from a stop light or trying to pass someone. It happens randomly a few times a month and it almost got me into a crash once. So I am very careful about that. The dealership said it's a standard performance issue with 4 cylinder cars that can't be fixed. I am not a fan of that answer and I am not sure that is even a true statement. Everything else about the car has been very good, but this scary issue makes it hard for me to recommend.""

Anonymous, IL (2024 Subaru Forester Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"The car has a wheel lock system that occasionally locks up and won't allow starting of the car. Have to pull forcefully on wheel to solve problem."

Anonymous A., WI (2024 Subaru Forester Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

""the headlights are TERRIBLE and my dealer will not do anything and neither will Subaru USA. I do not feel safe driving at night, I only have about 20' visibility. I watched an online video and changed them myself but they are better but still not good. And now, 2nd, the sunroof is leaking whenever it rains. Yesterday I had about 1" of water in the back seat and now it is starting to smell moldy. I'm going to try to sell it.""

Anonymous A., VA (2024 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"The battery had to be replaced because the car wouldnt start even after it had been recently charged. The battery had only about 10000 miles of use and was only 18 mos. old."

Anonymous, IL (2024 Subaru Forester Unsure 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"The windshield wiper fluid delivery spout clogged up so half the windsheild can't be cleaned."

Anonymous A., CA (2024 Subaru Forester Standard 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

I haven't had my car since March 11,2025. They won't put in a new radio and i don't know why. They can't figure out what's wrong."

Anonymous A., OR (2024 Subaru Forester Touring 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

What Owners Say

A/C compressor

"The compressor failed and was replaced by Subaru dealer. This did not resolve the issue, so another compressor was installed, as was a new expansion valve. It was after this didn't seem to work that the Subaru service folks found out that when a new part is installed, the car's computer needs to be told. Once this was done, everything worked as expected."

Anonymous, NM (2024 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"A/C was not cooling well from the start. They added freon and dye. Found compressor seals failed. Compressor was replaced. Also found 3 other freon leaks in the system."

I am 90 minutes from the dealer and don't want to waste an entire day taking it in until I'm sure they can diagnose it.""

Anonymous, KS (2024 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

What Owners Say

Other electrical system problem

"All the checked boxes are a result of the battery being completely dead. Apparently the overhead inside light had inadvertently been left on overnight. The next day I couldnt get in my car.everything was dead. I contacted the dealer as Id only had the car for 3 days. None of themsecret ways to open the doors worked. A tow truck was called and it was a special request because the car was in the garage. It had to be loaded on rolling tires to get it out of the garage and towed to dealer. It was a quick fix by charging the battery, although I expected a new battery. Its scary to think of being stranded somewhere without access to my car. A simple fix would be to have a gauge or warning system when the battery is getting low."
