Road Test

This iteration of the Subaru Legacy scores among the top tier of family sedans and offers standard all-wheel drive. It is significantly roomier and quieter than the previous model and has impressive ride comfort and responsive handling. Even with all-wheel-drive, the fuel economy is impressive, thanks to its continuously variable transmission (CVT). The penalty for the CVT, however, is accentuated engine noise when accelerating, which can be grating.
