In my case, the phone may pair all time if the car was parked when temperature around was moderate or in garage. If it was left in a parking lot under extreme cold or extreme heat, the problem happens. When you start car, the phone is paired for 1-3 minutes, than the car does not "see" it. Sometimes, phone pairing may start to work after several weeks. If the car software is rebooted, the problem is fixed - until the next parking during summer or winter. A Toyota dealer tried to blame my phone several times, but then admitted that (a) the problem is real and (b) they cannot fix it. Therefore, I am driving my car with failed hands-free phone option most of the time. Toyota knows about the problem, knows that it exists in several year models of Camries, but does nothing about it."

But if the car was left in outdoors parking on hot or cold day, the phone pairing has problems. Once I start the car, phone pairs for 2-3 minutes, then the connection is lost. The Toyota dealer at first refused to recognize the problem (about 4 years ago). Then they have admitted that the problem exists, but they cannot fix it. The problem was serendipitously fixed after the software has been updated under recall (about 3 years ago). After this, when I am really sick and tired that I cannot use hands-off call option, I scream at the service station, they reboot my car computer, and the problem is resolved - until the next outdoor parking on cold or hot weather. Outside rain, driving in snow or rain conditions do not cause the problem. Hence, this is not a condensation-caused. Check the Internet. Many drivers experience this problem."

Obviously, Toyota does nothing about it. (I have complained to the dealer.) My current arrangement with the repair shop is that they reset the computer. After this, the system works fine - until the first too hot or too cold day. When the defect is present, Bluetooth connectivity works for 1-3 minutes after I start my car, then shuts down. Sometimes it repairs itself (after several days with moderate temperature and the car in garage). BTW, the voice synthesizer, the voice recognition, the guidance system - all are worse in the 2013 Camry than they were in my previous 2007 Camry."
