What Owners Say
"drives smooth like a car costing much more."
James W., WA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"poor acceleration"
Arthur B., FL (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Safety features (collision prevention and lane change warning) are very helpful while driving"
Robert H., ON (2017 Toyota Corolla)"It's a zippy little car. The driver's seat is electrical but the passenger's is manual and little adjustable lumbar support. Ingress is a challenge but once in I have head room and let room. I would have more head room if there were no sun roof."
Anonymous, PA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration is excellent when merging onto freeway traffic or just passing slower vehicles. Pick up is quick and effortless. I am still getting used to the LDA (Lane Departure Alert with steering control) and it has scared me at times because the LDA seems to take over my steering. I have only had the car for 5 days and I know as time goes on I will become more accustomed to the various features."
Anonymous, OH (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Great styling. Comfortable seats. Cabin is not as quiet as I would like. Acceleration is disappointing, my Buick Encore has much better acceleration. Entune system does not integrate well with IPhone and is horrible with voice controls. Most disappointing part of the vehicle is the Entune system."
Michael C., MO (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Drives and handles well around town. However, rapid acceleration is noisy and not as fast as I would like."
Anonymous, BC (2017 Toyota Corolla)"It is peppy and handles well."
Anonymous, PA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"I put a computer chip in my car and when I ordered my car I added the TRD suspension and handling package"
Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration is sluggish"
Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration and handling are both smooth. Our one complaint is that the tires that the Corolla came with are terrible in the snow (because they're designed to have less friction for good gas mileage). Buyers in northern states should be aware of this."
Anonymous, MT (2017 Toyota Corolla)"very responsive for an eco vehicle."
David M., WA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"The car is very economical and will preform when it needs to. It handles just fine on the highway and city."
Anonymous, SK (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration is really good, car handles well even in bad weather."
Donald S., NY (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Underpowered, engine noise when accelerating, oversteering, sluggish transmission"
Anonymous, ON (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Drives like a sports car handles creat with all lot of get up and go"
Vicki M., CA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"It drives and handles well. It isn't a sports car but it is an excellent family car. The safety features are most welcome and I've tested them all!"
Anonymous, PA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"CVT transmission shifting takes some getting used to."
Anonymous, NY (2017 Toyota Corolla)"The Corolla is a very comfortable vehicle to drive and it has plenty of power when needed."
Susan M., ID (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Poor acceleration"
Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Corolla)"I like the safety features, particularly the ability to use cruise control to set your pace behind the car in front of you without having to use your brakes to do so."
Julie G., NY (2017 Toyota Corolla)"strong and steady"
James W., WA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"I really love the dynamic cruise control. It slows down when a vehicle is in front and resumes set speed when able."
Anonymous, BC (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Starting from a stop is anything but smooth. Give a little gas nothing happens give a little more gas nothing's happened give a little more gas and it takes off like crazy."
Guy H., FL (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Quick and handles well."
Anonymous, OH (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Car revs loudly when I am accelerating quickly. The CVT shifts pretty well - there is no throttle response delay that I saw in other cars that I test-drove."
Jonathan K., NJ (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Handling is good but acceleration is average maybe because it’s only 1.6 liter or 1.8"
Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"It has enough acceleration for me and handles great. Haven't had an issue with it yet."
Anonymous, ON (2017 Toyota Corolla)"She's quick--almost too quick. Handles beautifully. Love the stick!!!"
Mariann S., NC (2017 Toyota Corolla)"acceleration is slow and the vehicle struggles with multiple passengers in the vehicle"
Brian D., MN (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Very, very poor acceleration. A safety hazard in highway driving."
Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"I think the acceleration needs to be worked on, it drags. I came from a standard that had good pick up but it appears the sport Toyota corolla does not have enough pep. It is too heavy for the size engine. That is my only gripe in particular because of the price, I would have thought the pick up would have been better."
Cinthia V., NY (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Very Noisy when accelerating. This vehicle was purchased as a commuter car based on price, gas mileage, and reliability which it achieves. The voice command for making calls is not great and I have to repeat myself several times and is not the same quality as my 2016 Highlander Voice Command system."
Anonymous, ON (2017 Toyota Corolla)"handles with a light feel and is very responsive. quite powerful for a 4 cylinder"
Anonymous, PA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration is underpowered."
Richard D., MA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Car handles well. Acceleration is OK"
Anonymous, MA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"For a small car, this has excellent acceleration and handling"
David C., VA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"The CVT moves the car quickly through acceleration and does so with very smooth transition as the drive ratio changes. The steering is very responsive."
Anonymous, RI (2017 Toyota Corolla)"First car I've owned with a CVT. I like the instant response (much like a stick shift) even if the engine sometimes gets noisy at high RPMs. Now, we will see how it holds up over time."
Anonymous, OH (2017 Toyota Corolla)"I'm in control as opposed to those I test drove with CVT handling."
Beth I., MA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"The engine is really loud when accelerating."
Anonymous, MA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Handles extremely well"
Anonymous, PA (2017 Toyota Corolla)"gas mileage"
Anonymous, NY (2017 Toyota Corolla)"We have only had the Corolla for a short time - a month and a half - but lets say the Corolla is not overly endowed with keenness when asked to pass at highway speed. Plan accordingly. The handling is light and reasonably accurate with minimal influence from crosswinds or undulating roads."
Harvey B., AB (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Handling is very good. I drive a lot of curvy up and down roads in Hawaii and the handling is very consistent and the car is always stable. I also particularly like the radar assisted cruise control feature."
Anonymous, HI (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Requires heavy throttle to keep up with traffic. Handles very good with the SE package."
Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Corolla)"Solid drive, no surprises."
Joan F., MO (2017 Toyota Corolla)"The acceleration is mostly somewhat jerky and not smooth. I do not like the multiple automatic gear changes during acceleration. There is hesitation while changing gears going from a stop to acceleration quickly. Unless you push the pedal just right the acceleration is very jerky after a stop. It’s a little scary and the engine roars loudly if you accelerate to move into traffic from a stop."
Anonymous, SC (2017 Toyota Corolla)"good acceleration for small engine, economic mileage 32mpg, enough drive to avoid bad situations,"
Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Corolla)
"It simply feels right. It is perfectly balanced in all ways."
Ruth H., VA (2017 Toyota Corolla)
