What Owners Say
"4 cylinder under powered when I need it for safe merging"
Anonymous, ID (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Smooth & relatively powerful, regal ride"
Anonymous, TX (2010 Toyota Highlander)"The steering is still firm and the handling secure even after seven years and well over 100,000 miles of use."
Gregory S., TN (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Acceleration and handling"
Shafi R., CA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"I was surprised how well it handles for an SUV. It accelerates well, rides very nice on the highway, and is good in snow. I've had two occasions where I had to react quickly in emergency situations. The Highlander withstood the challenge."
Anonymous, NY (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Excellent acceleration, handling a bit loose at times but overall ok."
Anonymous, CA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Very pleased with acceleration and how the car handles."
Anonymous, MD (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Our highlander has given us good service, from 22 to 23 mpg combined in-two and highway driving. Highway driving yields from 22 to 24 mpg. a full tank of in-town driving may yield 17 mpg. Comfort is outstanding."
Jim D., KY (2010 Toyota Highlander)"This Highlander has good torque and acceleration. The top speed is critically governed and in a very poor fashion. As the max speed is reached, the motor cuts out and the car decelerates rapidly, then the motor starts again, over and over it goes. This technique makes for a very jerky experience, and the car is not well and properly controlled."
James L., TX (2010 Toyota Highlander)"After 7 years, it is still zippy. We test drove the Hybrid, and I found it underwhelming. Who cares about the small difference in fuel costs in the grand scheme of things? I’ll always go for performance."
Karl S., CA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"The Highlander's is our work horse, pulls the boat, many trips to Home Depot, has never let me dawn. Not particularly pretty, but it purpose is to do its job and it does it very well."
Carlos R., FL (2010 Toyota Highlander)"This car really goes and handles well little repair only general maintenance"
J M., MA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"exceptional acceleration with up to four occupants"

BRAD C., CA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"The ride in my Highlander is very good. Excellent suspension. Good overall handling."
DANIEL L., NJ (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Love my highlander the only thing I. Would improve on is the backup lights I am short and it is hard for me to see at night because the backup lights are to dark."
Anonymous, VA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Acceleration is very good generally but it does not always downshift as needed which makes merging dangerous. Low traction on wet roads"
Anonymous, PA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"very peppy"
Anonymous, ON (2010 Toyota Highlander)"I cannot see how to park this car even sitting on pillows. I am 4' 11". My husband is 6' 1" and he has trouble too."
LINDA H., KY (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Confident handling especially in snow and ice."
DAVID W., MA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Acceleration and handling are fantastic in the Highlander. Visibility is great. On our first 250-mile trip the average MPG was 27, two more than the advertised 25 MPG. In city driving MPG is around 20."

Bruce I., OR (2010 Toyota Highlander)"Smooth ride, handles well. Good in winter"
Anonymous, MB (2010 Toyota Highlander)"The Highlander has great acceleration and braking. It does have a tendency to oversteer, so a light touch is needed."
Greg G., CA (2010 Toyota Highlander)"#1 - The steering is too touchy. CR pointed the steering issue out in 2010 review. #2 - The front wheel drive is torqued too high and the brakes are quick react when the pedal is depressed."
