What Owners Say
"Fuel economy"
JESUS P., PR (2013 Toyota Highlander)"It is bigger then I thought it was. So parking is a little more challenging then I expected. But u can carry at least 7 people or u can easily drop the seats and fill the car up to haul things. It has a lot of storage space when the 3rd row seats are down which comes in handy"
Anonymous, NM (2013 Toyota Highlander)"The car luches when stepping on the gas after a stop. Acceleration is jerky. Handling around corners is a little squirrely compared to my old Honda Pilot."
JULIE M., CA (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Does not accelerate as well as I expected."
WILLIAM B., CA (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Nice power from the V-6, but it comes on pretty abruptly. Certainly not like an old 2003 Lexus ES300 that I still drive (with 187K miles on the clock). Handling is a big wierd from time to time, but can be adjusted to. The Female Command Post at home at first disliked out $40K+ purchase, but now I think she has adapted to it. We pay you $705 a month to own this vehicle and for the most part it has been good. Bruce"
LYNDA M., TX (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Great handling and acceleration."
WILLIAM O., NC (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Occasionally, from a start or very slow speed, the engine "stalls". Have to pump a couple of times to get accelerator to respond. Have asked service dept to check out, and they said "we can't get it to do it". I asked them to keep the car and drive it for several days to experience it, but they wouldn't."
Anonymous, WA (2013 Toyota Highlander)"I drive from Georgia to Oregon - the car is great for that. I don't drive it around town (too large and bulky). The car handles very well on the roads and I particularly like the ability to take on small, rural, underdeveloped roads"
Anonymous, NE (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Although tis car is smaller than the van, it handles as if it were the larger of the two. And for the cargo space, a van would have been a better value."
Anonymous, CA (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Vehicle wants to slightly drift at highway speeds"
Anonymous, MD (2013 Toyota Highlander)"No problem with acceleration & handling, like it."
Anonymous, AB (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Very comfortable and roomy. Acceleration is responsive and braking is very good. It seems to decelerate as it coasts, which is a plus if it actually does. Doesn't seem to lean much on turns or curves."

GARY H., MN (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Drives jerky when towing trailer"
Anonymous, NY (2013 Toyota Highlander)"Mpg less than 2009 ?? WHY ACCELERATION NOT AS GOOD TIRES OME HORRIBLE will need to replace them by 50,000 ( same type of driving lot of hoghway) Brakes will need by 50,000"

George M., PA (2013 Toyota Highlander)"The cruise control doesn't adapt to even modest inclines very well. It will accelerate up a hill to 3 mph or more faster than the settings when I get to the top. This is in stark contrast to my two fords that handle the hills very well."
Anonymous, WV (2013 Toyota Highlander)"An easy to drive vehicle with good solid handling in all seasons, particularly winter. Acceleration and stopping are excellent and never a concern. We will spend up to 14 hours behind the wheel and get out of the SUV a little stiff and tired but not totally fatigued. The V6 provides excellent acceleration and has decent fuel economy approaching on the interstate highways 24 mpg. The Highlander is a winner in our opinion."
