What Owners Say
"drives very well and handling is just what i like about the highlander."
Louis L., MA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Excellent acceleration & very smooth handling"
Anonymous, CO (2014 Toyota Highlander)"There is oversteer. Braking feels spongy."
Anonymous, CA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Very strong smooth"
Stanley S., CA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Handling, responsiveness, turning, acceleration are all great."
Anonymous, MN (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Accelerating either from a stop or while moving slowly (15-20 mph) into a turn or curve, the vehicle tends to oversteer and consequently, requires a steady hand on the steering wheel. The movement is not smooth and can surprise an unsuspecting driver. It is not unusual for the driver to feel like he is about to lose control of the steering. The dealership service people claim this is typical on the Highlander. I feel that there is a problem with the steering."
William B., CA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Good acceleration and handing. Great highway cruiser."
Anonymous, CA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"The XLE has great acceleration and when driving on the interstate and hitting potholes, this vehicle cushions people from feeling them. Handling is excellent on dirt roads in Arizona--I feel confident the vehicle will handle any situation. Vehicle glides on all roads."
William W., AZ (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Wow....that V-6 has more than ample power when I need it....very responsive for passing/accelerating. Safety alert bells monitoring lane position and the car in front is pretty cool....still getting used to the cruise control feature which does not allow me to get closer to the car in front of me....probably a good thing!"
Charles B., VA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Very quick--excellent acceleration. Great handling--cornering, comfortable ride over long distances."
Anonymous, VA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"powerful smooth acceleration. Handles well"
Anonymous, WI (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Toyota navigation system is terrible. Won’t buy again their navigation system Their hub caps are like a can. They peel back every time you hit a curb"
Duane A., LA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Fantastic acceleration, merging on the highway or passing on rural highways is effortless. For a larger SUV, the Highlander handles quite well, very little to no body roll on faster corners and great off-road absorbing of bumps and humps. Downhill assist works awesome and traction is great in dirt, mud and snow."
Chris V., ON (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Bad: when accelerating suddenly, if the steering wheel is not in the 'straight-on' position, the car can jerk to right, holding strongly on to steering wheel with both hands is essential."
Anonymous, TX (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Handles well. Comfortable ride. Dependable."
Anonymous, AL (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Very responsive and easy to drive."

Michael C., IL (2014 Toyota Highlander)"V6 is powerful but traction is extremely limited on FWD model. Comfortable ride. Wind and road noise is good and much better than my 2004 Honda Pilot. Braking is good. Transmission shift logic is a bit confusing especially when stepping on throttle to quickly accelrate, than changing mind to travel at a more standard pace."
Grant D., GA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Rides rough. does not handle bumps (small or large) well."
Anonymous, SC (2014 Toyota Highlander)"Plenty of zip. Handles well."
ALICE H., WA (2014 Toyota Highlander)"LOVE the acceleration! That said, the front wheel drive torque-steer and associated wheel-spin during acceleration making even mild turns is annoying at best. On wet pavement the front tires spin easily and the traction control is slow to take control. If I had known this I would have purchased the all-wheel drive option."
JAMES M., FL (2014 Toyota Highlander)"When you accelerate HARD, you need to grab the steering wheel firmly to keep the car from pulling to the side."
L M., TX (2014 Toyota Highlander)"excellent acceleration that adds to safety when getting on the freeway or passing another car quickly."
