I know they think limiting the navigation system when driving is a safety feature, but having to pull off to the side of the road (especially on a highway) is much more dangerous. Plus a passenger is also prevented from operating the system when moving. That is just lame!"

"There is a great deal to like about this are. It is big enough to handle some big tasks. The seating is very comfortable (believe me, I tried every similar vehicle at the time). There are only two things that I really dislike about my Highlander. I got a pretty high-end vehicle. I got a moonroof I didn't want in order to get the electronic package I did. I got the leather seating to (as I recall) get the stereo system I wanted). The seats are heated and cooled. Its got all sorts of helpful warning systems. It is a nice vehicle that handles well and rides comfortably. It seems like it has everything so I feel pretty petty and stupid when I realized this Highlander didn't have automatic windshield wipers. In buying the Highlander, I traded in a 12-year-old Toyota Avalon that had automatic wipers so it I assumed a new higher end Toyota would have them. Not so. My real major complaint is that this vehicle has the very worst voice recognition system I can imagine. It is terribly slow. It repeats commands multiple times to get confirmation. After multiple training session, I can still ask it for "directions to home" and I will get a response along the lines of "do you want to look for a gas station in Minot, North Dakota." It is beyond useless. It is an expensive annoyance. The voice recognition system in our Ford Escape is light years better than what we have in the Highlander."
