"I was on a trip and got engine check light. I took to Toyota dealer to have checked and they said valve leaking and would cost $7000 to have repaired. I drove the vehicle home to Wisconsin and took to local repair shop. The kept the vehicle about a month and cost about $4200."

Had to have it towed to my Toyota dealer. I later found out the timing chain broke and metal parts had broken off hitting the radiator and causing damage in several other areas of the engine. Although I was past the normal 25k mile warranty period, I luckily had purchased the extended warranty (100K miles/ 8 years). I had to wait 6 weeks for the repairs to be completed. However, the dealer did give me a new Tacoma to drive at no cost while the repairs were made.""

"A/C compressor basically self destructed, no known cause was given by the repair shop (not a dealer), cost to repair with a new unit would exceed $2500, elected to go with a rebuilt unit cost was still $2000"

"Right rear inner fender plastic liner keeps warping and rubbing on the tire at highway speeds. At a standstill it is too close to the tire but not touching. Truck is Crown oil coated including the plastic inner fender liners. The drivers side has no warpage so the oil is probably not the cause. There is no support for these in the lower area and no rigidity to keep them away from the tires when the wind grabs them (the one anyway)."
