"The windshield is showing a glare from the actual output"

Anonymous, CT (2024 Toyota Tacoma Limited 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Anonymous, (2024 Toyota Tacoma Limited 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

What Owners Say

Mirrors

"Mirrors melted. They were replaced and within 48 hours were doing the same thing again. It was determined to be solar convergence. This is the 4th Toyota truck to sit in the same spot in my driveway. Turns out its not covered by warranty. Toyota knows about the issues but is now using the cheap plastic it uses on the Prius on Tacoma pickups."

Anonymous, FL (2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
Other body problem

"Had slide fender bender. It took 5 months to get all of the parts to repair the fender. I finally contacted Toyota and complained. Maybe the theory of never buy a vehicle in its first year of a model change is good advice. The 25s were out and still couldnt get parts for the 24. Vehicle is fixed and I am happy."

Anonymous A., ME (2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

""My hood scoop melted, as did the trim around the grill and the trim on each side of the windshield. All of this was solar convergence. Too much cheap plastic being used in the manufacturing process.""

Anonymous, FL (2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The hood vibrates where the hinges are located. It moves at all speeds and engine rpms."

Anonymous, OK (2024 Toyota Tacoma SR5 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)
Seat controls - manual

"Seat goes down over time (quickly) despite not touching the manual control. Toyota corporate replaced the seat frame to collect the fauilty one. The replacement goes down but maybe not as quickly. So no real resolution."

Anonymous, SC (2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

What Owners Say

Anonymous, OR (2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Software defect: Settings to indicate tailgate was removed do not work (power tailgate version only), resulting in sudden random automatic braking when backing up. Two dealers, in consultation with Toyota Engineering, were unable to resolve the problem. Dealerws treated this as a warranty issue."

Anonymous A., OR (2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Electric tailgate malfunction"

Anonymous, ID (2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Suspension/Steering

Shocks or struts, ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, alignment, steering linkage (includes rack and pinion), power steering (pumps and hoses, leaks), wheel balance, springs or torsion bars, bushings, electronic or air suspension.

What Owners Say

Power steering

"Almost from the start the steering, when negotiating shallow curves, and particularly left curves, would either over-steer or completely let go for one to two seconds, then fully recover. This did not happen with hard turns around corners. I discussed this with my dealership and they asserted that this was common with this model. Surprisingly, the problem seems to have vanished these past five months or so."

Anonymous, PA (2024 Toyota Tacoma SR5 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"The electronic power steering stop working about four weeks after buying the vechile. This required the power steering rack to be replaced. I waited 7 weeks for the replacement unit to come in and be installed. After installation they found that unit would not connect to the trucks computer system. They then got a new rack in after some wait and found it didn't work after installation. A third rack was ordered and installed. It worked for a week when it failed and the power steering stopped working. After another visit to the dealership they finally got it working."

Anonymous, UT (2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

What Owners Say

Transmission rebuild or replacement

"Transmission stopped shifting properly. Dealer reviewed the problem, consulted with Toyota and was advised to replace the entire transmission, which was under warranty. Evidently there was a problem with some of the transmissions that were installed in early production of the newly redesigned Tacoma."

Anonymous, CA (2024 Toyota Tacoma SR5 2.4-L 4 Cyl turbo)

Electrical Accessories
