Queen scores an iPod from Obama

Consumer Reports News: April 01, 2009 05:20 PM

Turns out Queen Elizabeth II is more of a techie than we might have imagined. At least President Obama had better hope she is, since he just presented her with an Apple iPod.

    The BBC reports:

"President Obama has given the Queen an iPod during their private meeting at Buckingham Palace. It contains footage of her state visit to the US in May 2007. The Queen has given the president a silver framed photograph of herself and her husband. The official picture is what she gives all visiting dignitaries."

He has apparently also given her a songbook signed by Richard Rodgers.

Is an iPod a better gift for a foreign dignitary than a box set of DVDs? What kind of music will the queen upload to it? And who knew Obama had such a penchant for giving electronics as gifts?
